Hi everyone leana/hello, you come and stay with us in the Beatiful Marovo Lagoon, at the oceans edge in tropical remote wilderness enjoy and experience the lifestyle in marovo lagoon. The space The house is a Marovo lagoon style house with big windows wooden floors, your room is simple with a light, australian power point to charge cameras, phones, laptops. We are off grid running on a small Solar systems, All our beds have Moquito nets, all the windows have mosquito nets, we have 3 portable small but powerful fans, we have an outdoor flush toilet outhouse with a handwash basin. Our kitchen is a traditional Marovo lagoon style "Vanua Rego" kitchen house were we cook amazing local foods on the fire and gas. Guest access Boat connection from Seghe aiport or Bunikalo Ports in the Marovo Lagoon. boat pickups and dropoff. Local passenger boats also travel from Honiara to Marovo Lagoon 3 times per week are subject to changes or cancellations. guided tours and activity's and classes cost extra that you pay in SBD solomon dollar cash to the service provider. Other things to note Once you arrive in Honiara you can get a connecting flight to Seghe Airport in the Marovo lagoon about $300 for the flight where you can pay a boat driver to driver you to our Pitikole Homestay at Kavolavata village marovo Lagoon and arrive on the same day that evening, the cheaper option but longer travel time- we can have someone meet you at the honiara international airport and take you to the passenger ship they charge $sbd $200 via taxi which (taxi is around $150-$200 to the ship/port, the ship departs both on Saturday and sunday, 8-9 hour 1 way journey and costs around $80-90 aud- sbd $400-500 1 way ticket(which you will pay when your on the ship in cash Solomon islands dollars SBD, this ship takes you out to the Marovo Lagoon, bring a sleeping matt to lie on, you will get off at the first stop called Bunikalo port and one of our family will pick you up and take you for a 30 minute boat ride journey to our House where you will be staying (the boat ride is exposed to the elements) you will need to pay the boat driver for petrol and Hiring fee (varies with petrol price changes) will be around $100aud 1 way. Bring enough cash in Solomon islands Dollar- you can get your cash exchanged at a western union bank in Honiara (there is one at the Airport on arrival) not always open. Once you are out of Honiara and in the Marovo lagoon there is no bearbye ATM machines or banks, so having enough cash in Solomon dollar is important. Fish vegetables and fruits are also sold by villagers in the area which you can purchase with cash. The tropical weather in the Marovo Lagoon brings rain and sunshine and humidity, be prepared with antibacterial solutions and antibiotics to keep on hand, bring a backup mosauito net, mosquito repellent, medi kit.
