Roo & Bear: Riverside Hideaway with Sauna

Nestled in a spacious garden on a quiet river path leading into Porepunkah town centre with the rail trail biking access. Just over 5 minutes into Bright for more social experiences.Otherwise, sit along our river, listen to the birds and relax in our backyard sauna. Our interior landscape is designed to make one feel at ease and comfortable with organic and vintage furniture to be in the moment, find a record to put on, all while sipping on the local gin or wine we gift to you. Take it easy. The space From the front shaded patio entrance, the main living area is open with plenty of seating options to chat and cook up a feast. We love cooking and BBQ'ing outside when the weather is golden so all the essentials should be found here. Yes, that means herbs & spices, cooking oils, six burner stove and large oven, coffee (french press or pods), trays, cutting boards, knives and a dishwasher that even fits all stemmed glassware :) Off to the side of the main front entrance has the main bedroom (queen bed) and ensuite with a toilet and shower. The opposite side of the house has two bedrooms each with one queen bed and built in wardrobe. They share a bathroom that has the spa bath and shower and a separated toilet room. The second living room/dining room ("the blue room") has two leather couches in front of the jet master fire place and dining area. The extra queen bed futon is in this room in the alcove. All bathrooms have body wash, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer. Laundry room is stocked with soap, washer and dryer and a desk work space just in case duty calls. There are clothes drying rack if you want fresh air and sunshine scented clothes too! In spring, summer and fall, the mountain biking is ideal and less than a 10 minute drive to Mystic Bike Park. There is our river trail to walk along for a casual sunrise stroll to coffee or across the street is open fire trails in the pine plantations for hilly spacious dog walks! (byo water in warm weather). Winter is best to cosy up inside by our hot Finnish designed fireplace or sauna outside. Ask us for any tips and recommendations as they do change surprisingly often in our small, ever evolving mountain town! Guest access You will have access to the entire home. However, the garage and tool sheds will be locked because honestly, where else could we hide our personal belongings to give you and your guests a spacious, tidy stay. Outside on the front covered verandah has space for bikes and toys, etc. **The driveway is nearly 1 acre long and turn-around space by the home is limited. We recommend parking extra cars close to entrance gate so the cars by home can turn around to avoid reversing down the long narrow driveway! Other things to note HOT MONTHS: Our double brick home and tiled floors at a steady cool temperature. During the warm months, we recommend opening the widows with the screens on at night if it cools down and closing as the sun comes up during daytime. If you need more cooling, there is a split system in the main living area and fans in each bedroom. A good time for star gazing outside with some insect repellent! COLD MONTHS: We have two wood burning fire places. One in each living space. Each room has a space heater/heat device and extra blankets. The main living room has a special upper oven that is perfect for making pizzas or baking any dish! Our hand-crafted Finnish style cedar sauna is also the top choice for warming the bones here. Please know that is is our personal home so please respect is so others can enjoy the property for many years to come!
