Beachfront Studio on Great Oyster Bay

Enjoy the lovely setting of this romantic spot in nature. Listen to the ocean and the birds and enjoy glimpses of the magnificent sunrise and sunset across the bay to Freycinet and Schouten Island. We live next door in a new house, but the Studio has been positioned to ensure your privacy. You have your own beachfront spot to relax on a deckchair. Dolphin Sands is a beautiful beach and offers endless walking and swimming opportunities. Swansea is a 30 minute walk by beach. The space Beautifully designed by JAWS architects, the Studio is a cosy 40m2 tiny home with top quality fittings. An outdoor bath for two on the 9.4m2 deck is your ultimate luxury, or enjoy a warm outdoor shower after a refreshing ocean swim. Please note regarding privacy with the outdoor bath: with the timber screen open and attached to the magnet on the rail, we cannot see you from our house. You have quality linen bedding and handmade ceramics by Tasmanian artist Sallee Warner. Breakfast cereals, plunger coffee, Lavazza machine with pods and tea as well as basic cooking supplies are provided. I will place eggs, toast, a pat of butter and fresh milk in your fridge. Firewood for the wood heater is provided. There is also an electric blanket, a freestanding Dyson heater/cooler and underfloor heating in the bathroom. On a hot day, I suggest you keep both blinds closed as it could otherwise become uncomfortably warm inside. We have water tanks so if you are not comfortable with drinking it, either boil it or bring your own drinking water. There are games, books, a DVD player and a TV with Netflix. This is an excellent base for exploring the East Coast wineries, restaurants, nature reserves and beaches. Five wineries are within 15 kms of the studio, as well as restaurants including Piermont Retreat, Devil’s Corner, Spring Vale, Miltons and Melshell Oysters just down the road. Freycinet Peninsula with stunning Wineglass Bay and Friendly Beaches is an hour's drive and makes a good day outing, combined with lunch in Bicheno or one of the wineries on your way back. You can also book a wine tour with Long Lunch - Rohan will collect you from the Studio. As this is a recent build, we are still working on landscaping but you will love the natural bush setting. Some of the screening trees had to be removed during the building process but while we are waiting for the new trees to grow, please be assured that we cannot see into your Studio from the outside. We have free range chickens so don't be surprised if they come to visit you. If you are bothered by insects when outdoors, please use the sprays in the laundry cupboard. They are attracted to the outside lights, so best to switch these off when you are enjoying the outside bath. There are fly screens so nothing should be able to come inside, except the clever ants who can outsmart any human! Please let me know if you spot any and I will have another go at rerouting them. Beach access: the beachfront area is crown land, i.e. not part of our property. To get to your beach chairs and lookout, walk through the tunnel with bushes. Don’t try the steep access to the beach from there: proceed further in the direction of Swansea, and you will get to your access path down to the beach. Guest access The Studio and laundry are for your exclusive use, as well as your own path to the beach front. When you reach the platforms for your beachfront chairs, keep going direction Swansea to reach the access path down to the beach. Your beach chairs are in the laundry. The laundry also has spare towels and bedding, dressing gowns, rain umbrella, beach towels, a picnic basket and a washing machine for your use. The property is 2.5 acres, so there is plenty of room for the two houses to each have their private area. Other things to note Please note that this is a tiny house. Access is by staircase. If you have mobility issues or have many large pieces of luggage or don’t like a bedroom with a bed that fits snugly into the corner, please book elsewhere. The view from the lounge and bathroom are deliberately unobstructed by blinds or curtains. Only the birds can see you. As this area has a high risk of bush fire, no fires other than in your built in fireplace indoors are allowed. There is plenty of wildlife and therefore pets are not permitted.
