Hit the “YALE” button on top, enter code then hit the green check mark in the lower right hand corner to complete entry. You may need to pull on the door knob gently as you enter the code, while the dead bolt retracts, as hot weather tends to make it stick. Other things to note We will do our best to make sure your stay is enjoyable. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions as the home is still new to us. Check in - As early as Thursday at 5pm and check out as late as the following Thursday at 11am. Housekeeping is typically scheduled for Thursdays. Wi-Fi Available! Password is on counter top and side of fridge. TV- The TV is reliant on Wi-Fi and guests are welcome to sign into their own streaming accounts. A DVD player is also available in the Livingroom TV console. Shower- The shower is located within the master bedroom. Guests will need to enter the master bedroom if they want to use the shower. The shower handle, when pointing up towards the shower head (or 12 o'clock) is in the off position. To turn the shower on, please rotate the shower handle in the clockwise position. The shower valve was installed backwards and hot water begins at 1 o'clock progressing colder as you approach the 6 o'clock position. Front Door Deadbolt- The front door touch pad deadbolt takes a second or two to engage. Please wait for the sound of the dead bolt to complete prior to pushing the door open. It may stick momentarily otherwise. Air Condition - There is a unit in the living room and one in the bedroom. The remote control in the bedroom is by the light/fan switch. The remote in the living room is to the left, on the wall. To turn on the A/C, hit the red button while remote is directed at the A/C unit, then select the temperature setting. It may take 3-5 minutes before it kicks on fully as it’s an energy saver unit. Kitchenware- We strive to have a complete set of kitchenware for your stay though if there is something unique, you may want to plan to pack it. We have plates, silverware, glasses, coffee mug, coffee maker & paper filters for ground coffee (no pods), spatula, serving spoon, dish towels, oven mitt, mixing cups, cooking pot & lid, strainer, popcorn bowl, frying pan, cutting boards, whisk, can opener, scissors, long handle lighters, knife block, sponges, dish soap, drying rack, soup bowls, salad bowl, ice cube trays. Grill- We strive to have cooking gas for the grill available in the grill. In the even you run out during your stay, a spare is available in the shed. Please notify us if the spare is used so that we can fill the remaining empty tank. If you do change a tank out, please let us know so we can fill the old tank for the next guest. Coffee Maker- This is a conventional 12-cup coffee maker that utilizes paper filters for ground coffee. There are spare filters available. Please plan to pack your own pre-ground coffee. Water- The water is drawn from the lake and mechanically filtered. There is a five gallon jug dispenser for potable water by the kitchen counter. Trash & Recycling - Pick up is on Tuesdays with the service picking up the trash bin where it resides between shed doors and front deck. Please ensure there is enough room between your car and the deck to move the trash can. If the trash can is full, please carry out excess and do not leave in loose bags outside of the container. This creates an attractive nuisance with raccoons. Thank you! Lawn Care - Please ensure any belongings, within reason, are off the grass. Mowing and string trimming edges is on Tuesdays. If the forecast is rain for a Tuesday, they try to come on Monday to keep ahead. Thank you! Candles - Please do not burn candles inside the cottage. This is a fire risk that we want to avoid. Awning- hand crank is by the sliding glass door, please leave in the closed position. Taxes- Madison County requires a 4% occupancy tax on your stay in addition to the room rate. This may not be reflected until further in the booking process. No parties please - A rate increase and/or fees may be applied if guest count exceeds six people. This is due to our septic system which is grossly limited in capacity given the residence is on an island without much distance to the shoreline.
