Huckleberry’s Haven Accessible Cottage

This beautiful cottage is fully accessible and is now air conditioned. Wide doorways, level thresholds, lowered kitchen counters, barrier free shower and more make this the ideal spot for those with mobility issues, but can be enjoyed by anyone. Ideally located between Morell and St. Peter's Bay, we are just a short drive from beaches, shopping, restaurants and more. It has a 3-star Canada Select rating, is part of the “Access Advisor” program and licensed with the Province of PEI Lic #2301123. The space This cottage was created with accessibility in mind. This cottage has an 8’ x 16’ deck in front and an 8’ x 8’ deck in back. Both decks can be accessed via ramp or stairs. The kitchen is well equipped with dishes, cutlery, cooking utensils, etc. Kitchen counters are slightly lower and under counter areas are open to accommodate a wheelchair. The living room has a double reclining sofa, satellite TV, internet and blue-ray player. Each bedroom has two windows to enjoy maximum light, but are provided with blinds as well as drapes when you want it dark. The bathroom is a delight! Wide open space beside the toilet along with grab bars aid in transitioning, lowered sink on 30” wide custom base with safety apron and tilted mirror makes access a breeze, and last but not least, barrier free shower measures 4’ wide x 6’ long with slip resistant tiling. There is a sturdy fold-down shower seat, adjustable hand-held shower, and separate control for overhead shower. Guest access Entire cottage and yard. The yard is very large and is shared with two other cottages , but there is plenty of space to play. There is a shared propane firepit in the yard for everyone to enjoy. Other things to note This cottage is part of Eileen's Country Cottages. Although this cottage was designed with accessibility in mind, it can be enjoyed by anyone. It is located in a beautiful, quiet area. There is another cottage connected to it duplex style . The decks are separated by a divider to ensure privacy. There is one other cottage on the property. Sunrises and sunsets here are amazing and it is also a great place to enjoy star gazing in the evening. We are pet free. We tried accepting pets on a one off basis but we had too many bad experiences and decided to remain completely pet free. Service animals with proper documentation are always welcome!
