Description
Sandstone Drifter! Our FRESH & NEW Cliffhouse! The space Sandstone Drifter is the newest Cliff House of the Red River Gorge. Begin your adventures by ascending the floating staircase. Once you are at the base of the cliff, head left and cross the suspension bridge which will take you to the all-black cabin nestled in the corner of the rock. This "bandit hideout" inspired cliff house is stylish, elevated, and bold. When you arrive at the parking area, your jaw will slowly unhinge as you stare up at the massive floating staircase that takes you to the top of the mountain. This will likely be the largest floating staircase you will ever witness. For your future bragging rights, here is the official step count: 177 steps! Please note, we strongly recommend packing in back packs vs suitcases, and bags instead of a cooler (there is a fridge inside). Simply put, the view from your bed will not be forgotten. You may choose to stay on the cliff your entire trip. The lower room hosts the kitchen, bathroom and lofted queen bed. Kick back and enjoy the old saloon vibes. Switch back up the stairs to a private deck and master bedroom. Hang out under the rock shelter and enjoy the epic view; there is no need to go down. Cliff Dweller and Golden Teacher- your "Cliff-Top Neighbors" also share the suspended staircase and walkway. - 0.1 miles to the Red River Rockhouse Restaurant - 1 mile to the Gorge Underground - 3 miles to the Miguel's Pizza, Red River Rockhouse, Natural Bridge State Park and Daniel Boone Coffee Shop - 4 miles to Skybridge Station and the entrance to the Gorge’s Scenic Loop - 5 miles to the Zipline and Red Point BBQ -- Amenities -- Sandstone Drifter has two queen beds, is heated and cooled, has an electric range, mini fridge, microwave and is designed for up to four guests. The outdoor lighting will be on until midnight and then we switch it off to allow the dark night forest sky to be just that--dark! We recommend packing a flashlight or headlamp to aid in moving around after the lights are off. It is recommended that you pack light! Please note that this treehouse is on a 3/4 mile, bumpy, sometimes muddy, gravel road. Some two-wheeled vehicles can make it to the cabin, but four wheel drives have a much easier time. For this reason we highly recommend a 4 or all wheel drive vehicle!
