This zen-like getaway in the lap of nature has carefully thought-out indoor and outdoor features for families and friends to recharge! PARKING/CARPORT: You will arrive at a level parking area with level-access to the single story home. There is enough space to 3 cars. 1 under the carport and 2 in the driveway. There is high-speed 100 MBPs Wi-Fi throughout the home. BEDROOMS: There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the house. Each bedroom has been thoughtfully designed with seclusion and comfort in mind. Bedroom 1 has a King bed with walk-in closet. Attached full bath Bedroom 2 has a Queen bed with full closet. Adjacent full bath. LIVING/DINING As you enter the home, you will be welcomed into a stylishly done living/dining area with the classic high-end Shaker stove fireplace. The living/dining area includes a modern 4-person dining table. If you need more seating there are additional seating for 2 at the kitchen island. The living area has a sofa bed (bed linen provided) and seating bench. The sofa bed opens to about a full size bed, which is comfortable to sleep one adult or two small children. We may also provide and extra air mattress upon request. There are also lounge chairs in the office space between the living area and the bedroom. This is an ideal spot to enjoy your morning coffee indoors while the sun rises over the mountains. Do not miss the office/desk space with inspirational mountain views! KITCHEN: Adjacent to the living/dining area is the well-equipped open-kitchen with granite counter tops, updated 3/4 size stainless steel appliances including electric stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, a Keurig coffee maker, traditional coffee maker and an adequately-stocked kitchen complete with dishes, glassware, baking and serving ware and cookware. THEATER ROOM: The garage has been converted into game/theater room.There is theater-style seating for 6: 3 leather recliner chairs and 3 floor gaming chairs. Please note that we do not have cable TV. We have Apple TV, an d you can log into Netflix, HULU, Disney+ etc. through your own account. We also have a foosball table for hours of fun! You will also have access to multiple board games. OUTDOOR AREA Beyond the living/dining area is the patio that opens into a vast open space. You can stare at calming, endless vastness of the Taos mountains. Enjoy the sunrise or sunset as you kick back on the patio while taking in the serene surroundings. Do not miss the custom design features of this property, including photo opportuniy with the "green alien" and the "red butterfly" HOT TUB/SPA AREA Keeping up with the aesthetics of the property the 6-person hot tub is set in a cedar cabinet. Surrounded by native sage brush and other native flora. Gaze at the mountains faraway in the day or stare at the starry skies and the Milky Way while soaking it all in. BBQ CABANA The BBQ area has a 4-burner grill, table with seating for 6 and an additional 4 Adirondack chairs, all there for you to enjoy with unobstructed and grand views of the mountains. AIR CONDITIONING - Summer Please note for our summer guests: our home is NOT air conditioned. The outdoors is our air conditioning. Open windows at night to cool the house down, close windows and shades during the day to keep the house cool. This will keep the house comfortable. AIR CONDITIONING - Winter The radiant floor heating and passive solar will keep you warm and cozy in the living area and kitchen. We also have wall-mounted heaters in every room if you need additional heat. Guest access You will get a message 3 days before your arrival with your unique access code. No need to meet anyone for keys! We give our guests total privacy. If there are any questions or concerns during your stay, please reach out to us immediately. We will try to resolve any potential problems or issues promptly. Other things to note The home is in El Prado, in the newly developed and peaceful Sage Living neighborhood. If you are looking for a quiet, serene home with awe-inspiring views in every direction, yet also be close enough to the convenience of groceries, shopping, entertainment, adventure, then you have come to the right place. You will get seclusion and access, so the best of both worlds!! - Taos Plaza: 6 miles - Ski Valley: 20 miles - Rio Grande Gorge Bridge: 11 miles - Albertson grocery store: 6 miles - Smith's grocery store: 6 miles - Walmart: 6 miles - CID's Food market (higher-end grocery store): 8 miles Our home is in a community off of a dead-end short dirt road so you may get some dust on your car. The main road is maintained by the county. There are times, especially after rain or snow, that the road can be very bumpy. We privately maintain our road and driveway and keep it in the best shape possible! We do have quiet, friendly, year-round neighbors so please be respectful of their space. A car is necessary in and around Taos and to get to our home. A 4-wheel/all wheel drive vehicle may be necessary to get to the house in the winter if it snows (which can be often!), and is definitely recommended if guests are planning to drive to the ski valley. When it snows, the dirt roads generally have a thin layer of snow on them even after being plowed since they can't be plowed like a paved road. *** PLEASE READ THE HOUSE RULES PRIOR TO BOOKING *** *** RENTAL AGREEMENT/SECURITY DEPOSIT *** Please note that all guests will receive an email required to sign our rental agreement that lists the house rules. We need you to sign it and share your credit card info through our secure reservation system for a $500 deposit. It's important that you review and sign this agreement within 48 hours of receipt to maintain your booking. If this step is overlooked, your reservation may be subject to automatic cancellation as per our house rules. We would not want that to happen, so we emphasize this to ensure all goes smoothly with your reservation. The reason for the agreement is simple - it is in place to provide transparency and protection for both our valued guests and us, the hosts. The security deposit is simply a temporary hold on your card, not an actual charge, although it will count towards your credit limit. This means your money stays in your account. We put this hold on your card one week before you arrive. If there's no damage when you leave, we'll remove the hold one week after you go.
