Luxury 16th century Cottage, Stow-on-the-Wold
Description
Welcome to Posting House Barn. Nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds, a stone’s throw from the market square of historic Stow-on-the-Wold, this 16th century Barn conversion is perfectly located to explore the Cotswolds. We have recently renovated the property (2022/23), ensuring that the cottage retains its rustic charm in keeping with its history, but with all the contemporary comforts. Travelling with a larger group? We have another cottage just next door, which sleeps a further 6 guests. The space Posting House Barn sits right in the centre of Stow on the Wold, in walking distance of an array of pubs, restaurants, independent shops and delis, but tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The ground floor is set out as an open-plan kitchen and living space, perfect for cooking and entertaining. The brand new shaker kitchen boasts a Smeg range cooker, microwave, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine (with a complimentary selection of coffee capsules), along with everything you need for cooking. The antique dining table seats 6, and there is plenty of comfortable seating in the living room to curl up and watch a film on a 43inch smart TV (complete with Netflix). There is a traditional stove fire in the living room that runs off bioethanol fuel. On the first floor you will find two beautifully styled bedrooms and the family bathroom, complete with marble shower and a traditional roll top bath. Complimentary, luxury shower gel, shampoo and conditioner will be left for you. The first bedroom houses a large king size bed, a dressing table/desk, a generous sized wardrobe and beautiful views over the cottage garden. Next door you will find the second bedroom with twin beds, perfect for children but equally adored by adults. On the top floor is the master suite, with exposed timber trusses, a king-size bed, a dressing table/desk, wardrobe area and a beautiful en-suite bathroom (with complimentary toiletries). At the back of the cottage is a private, secluded cottage garden with outdoor dining furniture and a BBQ. The front door leads onto King's Arms lane, a quiet lane which runs between Well Lane and the Market Square. Guest access Parking There is no private parking available with the cottage. Parking options are as follows: 1. Well Lane: free on-street parking is available all along Well Lane (at the end of King’s Arms Lane) which is a 2minute walk to the cottage. 2. Fosseway Carpark: there is a free long stay car park next to the Tesco Superstore on the Fosseway. This is only a short walk from the cottage. 3. Maugersbury Carpark: There is a small pay and display carpark located on Maugersbury Road. 4. Market Square: Parking in the market square is free, but there is a 2-hour time restriction between 9am and 5pm. Parking outside of these times is unrestricted, and tends to work well when you are out exploring the Cotswolds by car during the day. Please do not park in any of the parking spaces along King’s Arms Lane which are reserved for guests staying at the King’s Arms Hotel. The hotel is generally accommodating should you wish to temporarily park in front of the cottage on arrival or departure to unpack/pack your car. Other things to note The property is set over three floors with a beautiful oak spiral staircase. The property is not suitable for those with reduced mobility and guests with young children should take care. No smoking or vaping is permitted throughout the property. No pets are permitted. The stove in the living room is a bioethanol fire (real flame). One bottle of bioethanol will be left for guests between the months of October and March. Please carefully follow the instructions for lighting the fire. Guests are responsible for cleaning the BBQ after use. Hen and stag parties are not permitted. We offer discounts for weekly and longer stays.
