Beautifully handcrafted cabins with private bath/shower that overlook the scenic Matanuska River Valley. These cabins have a queen bed and a twin bed, table, chairs, deck with chairs, small refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. Look for Dall Sheep from the deck of your cabin on the nearby mountain-side. There are over 10 miles of trails leaving from the Lodge perfect for exploring. Birds and wildflowers abound. Maps are provided in each cabin for self-guided hiking. In the fall (mid-August), wild berries such as blueberries, low bush cranberries, and crowberries can be found in great numbers. Our guests usually enjoy soaking in the hot tub with mountain views, followed by a fire in the large Gazebo behind the lodge. Our lodge is located a short 12 miles from access to the Matanuska Glacier. Spend a few hours exploring the glacier on your own or take a guided hike to see the glacier’s wondrous features with expert guides.
