Old train station - Mareuil

Our house is an old station, in a green setting, dating from the late 19th century and located in the Périgord-Limousin Natural Park. You can relax there, in absolute calm, and thus enjoy nature and all that our beautiful region has to offer. We have a large garden in which is a swimming pool, terraces, bbq, various leisure activities as well as a vegetable garden and chickens (closed chicken coop). Perfect for stays for families or groups of friends.🌻 The space Our house is an old station dating from the late 19th century built during the Commune. It has not been in working order since the 1950s and was subsequently transformed into a private dwelling. It has the charm of its history: station shelters, lamplighting, hangar... but fortunately the rails are no longer there! The station is located on a large plot of land with different spaces that you can enjoy in peace (calm assured!): - a large covered wooden terrace that has garden furniture, and faces the pool - a terrace in front of the house attached to the kitchen which is equipped with a large outdoor table and will allow you to eat your meals outside. You will have a gas barbecue at your disposal. - we also leave outdoor leisure activities at your disposal for the happiness of young and old: trampoline, swing set with swings, ping pong table, and scooters. The house is light and comfortable. It is composed of two floors with a beautiful living room and large openings. The house is equipped with many board games and books that we leave at your disposal. On the ground floor, you will find an entrance in which the staircase is located/a large living room with large corner sofa, large oak table/two bedrooms with double bed each overlooking one side of the garden/a bathroom with bathtub and toilet/equipped kitchen (stovetop, oven, kitchen utensils) that overlooks the terrace. On the first floor is a large bedroom with double bed/ a children's bedroom with two single beds and a baby bed if needed/ a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom with bathtub and washing machine/ separate toilet. Our home is in the Périgord Limousin Natural Park in the countryside. We are located 4 km from the shops of Mareuil-en-Périgord (butcher, bakery, food, pharmacy, multidisciplinary health center, post office, tobacco, restaurants, coffee, weekly market...). From the house, you will have quick access to many hiking trails passing through typical hamlets, forests, and castles. In the region, you can discover the beautiful villages of Brantôme-en-Périgord and Bourdeilles, visit castles and of course discover Périgord gastronomy (truffles are honored there)! You can also do various activities such as cave tours, canoeing on the Dronne, climbing, river swimming and local markets. The old train station therefore offers you an immersion in the life of the countryside with all the comforts you need. That's why we ask you to take care of our chickens and our vegetable garden during our absence. Normally they should give it back to you: small fresh eggs to pick up in the henhouse and ripe seasonal vegetables to pick if you wish! Guest access You will have access to the whole place except the barn. Other things to note Of course, the train hasn't been running for 70 years!
