Riverfront Retreat + Sauna Forest Bathing

Welcome to our home! The River Relton is a spacious and relaxing Mt Hood retreat, directly on the Sandy River and a short drive from the slopes. We lovingly designed this space as an escape for our family and friends and are so excited to share it with others. Insta: @theriverrelton The space Our home is nestled amongst the trees right on the Sandy River, and ideally located, just 20 minutes from the slopes and 55 minutes from Portland. With 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a fully-stocked kitchen, and spacious areas for relaxing and entertaining in nature, our home is perfect for 1-2 families who will appreciate having a thoughtfully-designed home-away-from-home. Our home is luxuriously-appointed and cared for. All our beds are outfitted with new Helix Luxe and Winkbed mattresses, with protective covers on all beds and pillows. We only use cleaning supplies that are natural and non-toxic, free and clear detergents, as well as all natural fibers throughout the home: New Zealand wool Berber carpet, linen bedsheets, down comforter inserts, and high-quality waffle towels. Each of the bedrooms is spacious with plenty of flexibility for sleeping and storage. On the main floor, you’ll find a guest room with queen bed, river views, and large closet. Upstairs, the large primary bedroom has a king bed, sitting area, and en suite bath with jetted tub. Also upstairs, you'll find our large second guest room – featuring a split king that easily flexes to two twins (by request), a sofa that folds down into a queen sleeper (extra linens for the sleeper sofa by request), and a writing desk for any WFH needs. In the walk-in closet, you'll find a large Joovy2 pack n play for your use as well. Back downstairs, the open-floorplan kitchen is fully-equipped for cooking and hosting family meals with all-new appliances, plenty of dinnerware and silverware, and everything else you could possibly need, from Tramotina stainless steel cookware and a Staub dutch oven, to a KitchenAid stand mixer, Nutribullet, baking supplies and everything in between. We also stock our kitchen with Stumptown coffee beans and provide a burr grinder and Café coffee maker. In the living room, we have a large, Samsung Smart TV and fast wifi for all your streaming needs, but also have a cabinet full of fun board games for lofi entertaining. A Sonos speaker is available and easy for any guest to hop on via wifi. Our overstuffed 105" comfy leather sofa easily fits four sitting adults (or two napping ones!), but the best seat(s) in the house is the custom, Pendleton wool upholstered window seat overlooking the river. **Please no unsupervised children on this bench, as the windows open from the bottom and could pose a fall risk.** For those traveling with small children, we have a high chair, kids’ dinnerware/utensils, toys and make your stay more comfortable. The home is centrally heated and is easily controlled by Nest Thermostat, but also has a propane fireplace in the open living room for instant cozy vibes. Please note the house does NOT have air conditioning. The vaulted ceilings and two-story windows invite nature in, while French doors open to a spacious, elevated deck overlooking the river with outdoor grilling and dining. Just below, amidst the forested backyard, is a luxuriously hygge outdoor lounge with a 6-person barrel sauna and sitting area with propane firepit, perfect for apre-ski (or apre-anything). A short walk down the path and you'll find an even more magical setting at the river. Four Adirondack chairs surround a natural firepit for roasting s'mores with the river rushing below, under a starry night sky with solar-powered string lights hung in the trees for added ambiance. Guest access The entire house except owner and housekeeping closets. Other things to note This is a non-smoking, non-vaping home. Shoes must be removed while inside at all times. Please no food or drinks upstairs – the carpet is wool berber and will incur extra costs if damaged. This is a residential home on a quiet, wooded street. We ask that our guests maintain a respectful volume and adhere to our maximum # of guests and no party policy. For any extraneous cleaning required due to guest behavior, an additional cleaning fee will be assessed at a rate of $60/hr.
