Newer listing from highly-rated host! It's 15-20 mins to the center by bus or bike. Discover why the Danes rank among the world's happiest people as you explore CPH & its captivating surroundings. Our modern 2019 flat overlooks the CPH harbor facing west, from which you'll enjoy peacefulness, lots of natural light & beautiful sunsets from the common areas & balcony. Fling open the two sets of french doors in the summer time or cozy up to the fireplace in the winter (& enjoy the heated floors). First, a little about us to give you confidence in booking a newer listing ;) We're an American expat family from Seattle that relocated to Copenhagen in 2017. In Seattle we AirBNB'd the MIL suite of our home. We bought our gorgeous Copenhagen flat in 2022 and are excited to offer it on AirBNB when we’re not using it. Experience a house-like feeling via bonus exit doors directly from the front balcony and spacious private back patio that opens up to a dreamy courtyard with plenty of children's toys to use freely. You'll appreciate that the flat has two bathrooms (a rare find in Copenhagen). We love that our flat is located on a dead-end street so cars are always only pulling up from one direction which is much safer for children playing! Please note this is our primary residence so we do have personal belongings in the home, please be respectful. We have two small dogs that we will board during your stay. The home will be professionally cleaned prior to your stay. Optionally, if you're also a dog lover and would be interested in taking care of our two low-maintenance cuddly doggies we will offer a $50 (350DKK) PER NIGHT discount. Bedrooms: Three bedrooms are set up to be most comfortable to sleep 4 adults, 1 child, and 1 baby, however the space is quite flexible. The bedrooms are east-facing with a view into the private terrace and shared courtyard. They get natural light in the morning/early afternoon. The bedrooms are set up as follows: 1. Master bedroom: • King sized bed with en suite bathroom and direct access to the spacious private terrace & shared courtyard. 2. Guest bedroom/office: • Double bed & desk with monitor to connect your laptop. 3. Kids bedroom: • Single bed, crib, & toddler-sized folding floor mattress. Lots of toys and books. —We can offer a pack-n-play if we’re not using it ourselves— Common areas consist of an open concept living/kitchen/dining area all with gorgeous west-facing views of the harbor as follows: • Seating area: You'll enjoy a sofa seating area with two big comfy couches that face each other situated on a low-pile rug for a comfortable conversation/kids playing area. A smart projector is permanently set up which has Netflix, Disney+ Hulu, Peacock, YouTube, etc. The electric fireplace to make it super cozy on colder days (the glass is tempered and doesn't get hot, it's more for ambiance, but there is a fan heater option that blows warm air if desired). • Kitchen/dining: We invested in a large height-adjustable dining table from the Danish furniture company Skovby. When raised it acts as supplemental counter space, a bar-height area to enjoy a beverage of choice while admiring the sunset view over the water, or just a practical way to keep things out of reach from small curious hands :) You can raise and lower it with the touch of a button—it’s battery powered so no cords. Outdoor areas: • Balcony: The kitchen opens up to a balcony that overlooks the harbor. The balcony provides private direct access to the street via a half-flight of stairs. • Terrace: A large terrace with ample seating, coffee table, and mini trampoline are accessible via the master bedroom (or from the courtyard). • Shared apartment courtyard: Lots of toys & a sand pit for children, a pet-free grassy area, and an orangerie glass house is available to reserve for free (it's for residents of the building but I can help reserve it for you if needed). The entire apartment. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you need anything. Sluseholmen (sloo-suh-hol-men) is one of Copenhagen's newly developed neighborhoods in the southwest part of the Copenhagen Harbor. It's nicknamed the canal city because the apartment buildings jet out directly from the water, so often instead of streets separating buildings it's a serene canal. The picturesque area is bustling with young families and lots of dogs too. Just a 10 minute stroll across a pedestrian fishing bridge you'll find a vast park with plenty of walking/biking trails, a lake, meadows, playgrounds, and sports fields. Right next door there is a dedicated swimming area in the harbor that features a massive wooden deck for sunbathing. In the summertime the waters are bustling with kayaks, SUPs, and boats. In the wintertime brave souls use the swimming area to take an invigorating "winter bathing" dip. The neighborhood is very family/stroller friendly. Every apartment complex's courtyard has its own unique mini playground for children. Plus, you'll be conveniently situated by a bakery, coffee shop, restaurants, a grocery store, and a bus stop to the city center all on the same block. Bike, bus, or take the harbor bus into Copenhagen's city center that boasts fairytale streets & buildings, modern architecture, a thriving cultural scene, and exquisite dining experiences--being home to frequently top-ranked restaurants in the world like Noma and the Alchemist. (Not to mention a top-ranked burger in the world from the modest Gasoline Grill.) The city's charm lies in its characteristic and colorful buildings set amongst pristine canals, providing visitors with unique and beyond Insta-worthy views. Immerse yourself in the rich gastronomy and laid-back atmosphere, making Copenhagen an ideal destination to unravel its many charms. Whether you're visiting the numerous museums, strolling along the beautiful Nyhavn canal, cycling through its streets, exploring the majestic Kronborg castle, enjoying the world's second-oldest operating amusement park Tivoli, or cruising its charming canals, there's something to delight everyone, regardless of their age or preferences. Copenhagen truly is a favorite destination for all tastes and ages! Moreover, you won't experience a language barrier speaking English in Copenhagen =) Our next door neighbor's AirBNB guests have rated the location a 4.9! Check out the reviews here: airbnb. com/rooms/50405075 (remove the space before "com") Getting to the city center takes 15-20 mins by bus or bike. Tip! You can use Riccos Kaffebar as a reference point that's 150 meters away from the flat for checking travel times. Googl maps has correct public transport info. Biking: Copenhagen is the friendliest bike city in the world. It's flat and there are dedicated bike paths. Cyclists rule the streets here. Be sure to watch out before you cross the road! We have a male bike with a child bike seat attached and female bike that you're welcome to use provided that we're out of town during you stay, so please be sure to ask. (Male bike size is for someone around 190cm//6'3", female bike size is for someone around 170cm//5'7", child seat is a Thule Yepp Maxi and is designed and tested for children from 9 months to 6 years old (or up to 18kg//40lbs). The 7A bus takes you to directly to the the central station/Tivoli ("Hovedbanegården, Tivoli") in 15-20 minutes. It's easy to wheel a stroller onto the bus. The harbor bus (pedestrian ferry) is a 5 minute walk and is a beautifully scenic way to get to many hot spots in Copenhagen, including the iconic Nyhavn canal. It's easy to wheel a stroller onto the harbor bus and you can also bring your bike(s) too provided you pay the extra fee. Taxis: No Uber here! Get the Viggo or TAXA 4x35 app instead. Car sharing: Traditional car sharing app options are Share Now or Green Mobility (use code 4haTCceX for 30 minutes free driving). You can also use the peer-to-peer app Go More (similar to TURO). Coming sometime in 2024 is a metro stop that we personally cannot be more excited about. There are three doors to enter/exit the flat however, only the main entrance door can be locked/unlocked from the outside. When leaving you will always need to lock the balcony and patio doors from the inside and exit the apartment via the main entrance door in order to secure it.
