Star Cottage is around 275 years old, full of character and is understood to have been built from the stone from Pengersick Castle, which is located behind. Praa Sands is well known for its mile-long sandy beach, backed with sheltering sand dunes, which is just a 5 minute walk from the cottage. The beach is suitable for all ages and patrolled by RNLI during the summer and public holidays throughout the year. Dogs are welcome on the beach, except during 10am - 6pm between July 1st and August 31st, when a seasonal dog ban is in place. Within a 3-minute walk of the cottage there is a local convenience store, where you can pick up essential household and food items, as well as local gifts. Praa Sands also has a few cafes/restaurants, all of which are within walking distance. Along the beachfront there is an activity centre offering group activities/lessons (surfing/kayaking/coasteering etc) and equipment/kit hire. There are few better ways to enjoy Cornwall, than in the great outdoors. Whether you prefer on foot or by bike, there are some beautiful trails and tracks nearby to visit. Within a 5/10-minute walk from the cottage, you can join the South West Coastal Path, which wraps around the entire coast of Cornwall. We're happy to recommend cycling/ walking routes to our guests, as well as local restaurants that are worth a visit. The cottage is also ideally located for visiting the historic St Michael's Mount and Minack Theatre. As well as the following well-known harbour towns: Porthleven, Mousehole, Falmouth and St. Ives, which we'd recommend travelling by train from St. Erth. Known as one of the most scenic train journeys in Britain, enjoy the spectacular views as the line sweeps along the coast, past the golden sands of Hayle Towans and Carbis Bay before arriving in St Ives. Dogs are also welcome on the train. Guest access Whole house and outside area. Other things to note DOGS • Dogs are more than welcome at the cottage. • We'd appreciate it if they do not go on the furniture or upstairs, the stair gate can be used to prevent this if necessary. ACCESSIBILITY • The cottage has narrow doors and a fairly steep stair case up to the bedrooms, therefore we would not recommend that this property is suitable for wheelchair users. BED LINEN / TOWELS Bed linen and towels (bath towels, hand towels and bathmats) are available as an optional extra. We just pass on the cost from our linen provider, there are no added fees from us. If you’d prefer to bring your own, you will need bed linen/towels for: one standard double, two twin bedrooms, a single room, two bathrooms and one downstairs loo Specifically: a mattress sheet, duvet cover, pillowcase, bath towels, bathmats, and hand towels. To confirm, we do provide the duvets and pillows.
