Beautiful, wooded property with state land walking and mountain bike trail access. All the feels of country-forest-living, but close to all that Redding has to offer. - 10 min to Lake Shasta/20 min to Whiskeytown lake - 10 min to Bethel Church - 5 min to restaurants and coffee shops - 15 min to downtown Redding + Sundial Bridge - 1 hour to Mt. Shasta & Mt. Lassen The space This is a one bedroom/one bath guest cottage located about 20 yards from the main house on a shared (steep) driveway. The propterty backs up to public land and each neighbor has several acres for privacy. The cottage has a kitchen/dining/living space (fully outfitted to prepare/serve meals and cozy up with games or your favorite movie) and a separate large bedroom, complete with a work space area and bathroom. It offers a king size bed and a couch with two twin sleeping spaces. There is an outdoor patio and if given notice with necessary details and pending approval, the possibilty to park a boat. Our forrested area does have reliable cell phpne reception but the internet may be quirky depending on weather and times of day. A wonderful coffee shop with amazing food, coffee and wifi is a hop skip and a jump away. We are a younger family of 6, and as such, have children play and noise on the property but are very careful to be respecftul of guests. We are here to be as helpful as needed and will always do our best to make your stay happy and cared for. The star gazing on our little one street neighborhood has yet to be beat. Dogs and cats live on the property **special things to note about the guest cottage** We have used and loved Airbnb for a decade. Originally it seemed to be a platform for people all over to share the spaces they had with travelers by using the utmost hospitality. That was definitely our kind of enjoyment as we passed through towns or went to quick destinations. We enjoyed taking part in a locals environment vs staying in a hotel. When we purchased this property in 2020, all six of us actually lived in this small cottage while we gutted and renovated our main home, diy style, for over a year and half. This cottage is a very special place to us and a place we have loved extending to friends and family once our main house renovation ended in 2022. We more recently decided to share it with travelers from all over, remembering the fondness of what Airbnb has been to us through the years. We love extending hospitality and taking care of people while they travel. We appreciate needing a safe space for your car (or boat:) and belongings and preferring a home over a hotel room. We are limited by what a 1980’s one room guest home in the forested area of shasta lake California can offer and we do not compete with destination spaces. We are family that loves our property and sharing it with others the best we can. We find our guests who enjoy the home the most are either passing through town and looking for something easy and safe or possibly a landing spot while exploring all our area has to offer—from mount lassen, whiskeytown lake, lake Shasta, mount shasta, shasta caverns, etc. We are not the spot for maximum space or the perfections new builds and investment rentals may offer while vacationing, though we do try! We are a very sweet spot to come home to and we take pride in being available and giving whatever we can to make sure you are comfortable and have whatever you need while you are with us.
