Monga Mountain Retreat

A bright, spacious timber cabin, on a beautiful 11acre off-grid property, nestled in the pristine Monga National Park. The private cabin is set apart from the main house on a quiet property, only 16min to the lively town of Braidwood. It sits beside the Jembaicumbene Creek, is surrounded forest and full of native wildlife, birds and untouched bush. There are trails to hike through the rainforest, where you have the chance to see wombats, echidnas & if you're lucky the spectacular lyrebird. The space The rustic style cabin is decked out in mid-century and designer furniture, and features large windows opening out to views of an uninterrupted eucalyptus valley. An off-grid haven of peace and tranquility, it is a perfect place to relax, unwind and explore the Monga National Park. The cabin features a large open plan living and bedroom space with kitchenette and bathroom, plus a secluded outdoor area to sit and enjoy the private view. The kitchenette is equipped with fridge and a gas cooktop, plus quality cookware, so you can self-cater. There is also a baby Webber on the private patio, so you can BBQ over views of the rainforest. The cabin is best suited to a single or couple furnished with the queen bed, and can accommodate a child on a blow up mattress if required. The cabin has little to no phone reception, nor Wi-Fi. It’s a great excuse to switch off, be in the moment, soak in the surrounds and relax. However if you are in need to make calls or check emails, just a short walk up to the top of Monga Lane towards the National Park, you should be able to receive reliable 4G. Guest access Guests are free to roam the entire property. Access to the Monga National Park and its hiking trails is just a short walk from the cabin door. Other things to note Please note: We are an off-grid property that aims to have a gentle footprint. We exist on solar power and rain water, so please be mindful of your water and power usage. There is no WIFI available which is an opportunity to switch off, slow down and reconnect with the sights and sounds of nature. Also, our toilet is a waterless compost toilet, it is a modern Swedish-designed model called the Seperett Villa. It's a contemporary compost toilet which is silent and odourless.
