Secluded Hike-in Retreat - Catbird

Camp Catbird is very secluded and HIKE-IN ONLY (12 minute hike from the parking lot)! This means you must walk to the site with all of your gear. Check out our other listings if you want to drive to the site/want a shorter walk from the parking lot. At this camp you will have a knee deep creek pool to yourself! Large chill groups and families welcome, no loud parties or events. The space This site includes a propane grill (propane and grill utensils provided), solar string lights, two hammocks, outside furniture (seats four), dining table and four chairs, fire pit, firewood for sale, cooking grate for fire pit, and a trash can and liners (we will take trash off for you). Eight minute walk to the clean composting toilet outhouse; we clean it twice a day. Also an eight minute walk to the epic outdoor shower (currently cold water only). Site sits along its own 100' section of creek. You can get your feet wet in the shallow parts or cool off in the deeper section. All of this is for you; no one else will have access to your portion of the creek! It is a spring fed creek that starts just at the top of the property, so it is clean (we still recommend boiling water if using it to drink, though!). There is plenty to do on our farm. We have a shiitake mushroom farm with self-guided tour, well maintained walking trails, hidden treasure boxes, a painting and game station, scavenger hunts, and much more (see pics for more information). Our farm is 2 minutes from Southern Revere brewery and 5 mins from Forrest Green Farm. What to Expect: You will park in the parking lot (2WD accessible) and carry gear with you. The trail descends into the forest gradually (so expect a slight uphill climb to exit). After you're in the forest, there are a couple of small hills, but it's mostly flat once you reach the creekside trail. If you would like to make the experience even easier, you can rent a tent (we will set it up for you before you arrive), sleeping pads, insect screen, cooler with ice, or you can purchase potable water.
