Etnalodge converted palmento: sleeps 7, self-cater

Etnalodge is a peaceful holiday home on the slopes of Mount Etna, housed in a converted ancient palmento. The house sleeps up to 7 people in 3 rooms. A travel cot can be added if required. All our rooms contain antique Sicilian furniture, have ensuite bathrooms and feature either countryside or sea views. The house has a fully-equipped eat-in kitchen, as well as an outdoor dining and lounge area and a sun-terrace. There is also a glass house with comfortable seating a few steps from the house. The space Etnalodge is situated in the countryside, with views of both the Ionian sea and Mount Etna. The nearest beach (pebbles and coarse sand) is Marina di Cottone, about a 15min drive away. If you prefer fine sand, Giardini Naxos is about a 15 minute drive along the autostrada. We are approximately a half-hour drive from Piano Provenzana, the starting point for walking and hiking Etna Nord. The Alcantara river valley is also close by. For town and city visits, we are within easy reach of both Taormina and Catania for day trips. A little further afield, but still doable in a day, Siracusa is well worth a visit. Wine lovers will appreciate the numerous wineries situated along the Strada di Vino dell'Etna, many of whom offer tours if you book in advance. Guest access Etnalodge is a converted palmento (originally built for making wine), divided into two parts. The holiday house has its own front door and is solely for guest use. We live in the other half of the building. Please note there is no living room within the house. For the colder months here is a spacious winter garden a few steps away from the house, with lounge seating and sea views. For the warmer months, outside the front of the guest house is a patio with a dining table and lounge seating, while behind the house there is a sun terrace with lounge furniture. All these outdoor areas are solely for guest use. The parking area at the side of the guest house is shared with the owners and available at all times to guests. There is further parking available on the lane outside the property. Other things to note Children of all ages are very welcome. Parents should be aware that there is no child safety equipment and so small children will need to be supervised. We have two small dogs who love people and will probably want to say hello to you whenever you are outside!
