The house is located in Oltingen, a beautiful village of national importance with many listed buildings. The former barn was lovingly converted by an architect with exquisite materials into a luxurious apartment with its own entrance. Oltingen is a paradise for nature lovers, hikers and bikers and is located along the Jura High Trail. The public transport connection is very good (45 minutes to SBB Basel train station). The space The apartment is located in the former barn of a monument award-winning farmhouse (built in 1848). You have your own front door with an entrance and wardrobe on the first floor. The living spaces are accessed via a staircase. It has controlled living room ventilation and underfloor heating and is optimally insulated. The apartment was designed and built by an architect using high-quality natural building materials (parquet, solid wood carpentry kitchen and bathroom furniture in oak), handmade cement tiles (Winkelmans), designer lights and fittings (Occhio, Vola etc.). In addition to the open kitchen with a spacious living-dining area, there is a bathroom, two bedrooms, one with an integrated work-TV area and an indoor garden. It is possible to use an additional sofa bed in one room. The apartment is ideal for four people. But if you don't mind living a little closer, you can also come in groups of six. The romantic house square with fountain is located on a small stream in the middle of the village, which has an exceptionally well-preserved town center. Here you will find a garden seating area in the shade of trees. You can buy eggs, honey and nuts directly from the neighbor's farm. In the village shop and in other farm shops you can get everything you need. There is a village inn with a lively cultural program and a number of good restaurants in the neighboring villages (Zeglingen, Anwil). Guest access It's a self-contained apartment with private access. The house square belongs to us and is accessible to everyone and not fenced, as is customary in villages. Hikers and cyclists enjoy the fountain. On the seat you have your peace, but you can still observe village life. Other things to note The apartment is not wheelchair accessible and has no child safety locks (steep stairs, some thorny plants in the indoor garden). Oltingen is a tranquil, beautiful village with many old original farmhouses and a famous wedding church. It is nestled between wooded Jura hills, with tall fruit trees that bloom magnificently in spring. Hikers and nature lovers will certainly not be disappointed. Oltingen is also ideal as a retreat for longer stays.
