The space This two-storey modern tropical beach house offers all the comfort and amenities you need for a relaxing stay. Fully air-conditioned, the property features its own water tower and modern bathrooms—each floor has a toilet, along with both indoor and outdoor showers. In true Filipino tradition, there’s a spacious outdoor kitchen equipped with a double gas stove and BBQ. The full indoor kitchen is a versatile space for light cooking and includes a microwave, fridge and freezer, drinking water dispenser, ice maker, and cappuccino machine. The main bathroom offers on-demand hot water, soap and shampoo dispensers, and fine cotton towels. The indoor dining area is configurable to suit your needs, with folding tables that seat up to eight. Facing a 45” flat-screen TV, the comfy couch can also be transformed into a single bed. Wi-Fi is the best available on this remote island, and the TV and sound system are set up for Netflix, Amazon Prime, web radio, and numerous Android TV apps. Upstairs, the master bedroom features a queen bed and a guest wardrobe. A digital safety box is available for your valuables. Next door is the second bedroom with a double and single bunk bed combo, accommodating 3 guests. Both bedrooms have access to a stunning ocean-view balcony and share a bathroom on the same floor. A foldable massage table stored underneath can serve as an extra bed. There are also sofa bed in the lounge area. Step outside the French doors onto a spacious ocean-facing terrace, complete with traditional outdoor furniture and a lounge space under a ceiling fan. The beach villa also features a large, Hawaiian-style thatched gazebo with a wooden deck—perfect for gatherings. The beach courtyard is lit at night by spotlights from the roof and balcony. Depending on your mood, you can enjoy stargazing under a canopy of constellations or brighten the space enough for a nighttime beach volleyball game. At high tide, the sea comes right up to the breakwater—an ideal time to go kayaking in the traditional barotos. Check tide times for your planned activities and excursions. There’s an access ramp to the terrace and ground floor, making it easier for rolling suitcases and wheelchairs. Remember however that the property is set on beach sand. As a coral reef beach, the sea can recede over 50 meters at low tide and return to shallow, emerald waters at high tide—making it perfectly safe for children to enjoy. Note: Olango Island has no hills or elevation, so breezes can pick up suddenly. Be sure to secure or store light objects and umbrellas before leaving the property. Guest access Only 30 minutes to/from the Airport. The entire property is for your exclusive enjoyment. The access road has little bumps, as it is located near a modest fishermen village, but it's part of the adventure. It's only minutes from the airport as the regular ferry takes less than 15 minutes to Mactan-Cebu and operates every 30 minutes from 4:30am to 8:00pm. Other things to note The internet in the Philippines is often unstable, we recommend to purchase a local SIM card package at the airport to complement the house Wi-Fi. The two cell operators are Globe and Smart, Globe seems to be the most reliable for LTE in Olango and also offer a online traveler e-Sim with unlimited local calls and SMS. Please do not smoke on the upstairs balcony, it overlooks the thatched roof that is highly inflammable. 🙏 There are always possibilities of random short time power blackout, as filipino infrastructures are not the strongest, but the property is equiped with solar lights. Please note that this is not a gated, all-inclusive artificial tourist resort. While the property itself is secure and gated, it is a real house located near a genuine Filipino fishing village. The local community is modest in means but known for their warmth, hospitality, and respect toward visitors. Staying here fits better travellers enjoying a more authentic, culturally rich experience, not the all-inclusive bubble dwellers style tourists.
