Follow the long grassy driveway to discover this character filled stone cottage, artistically restored in a wonderful eclectic mix of reclaimed and new. Discover its hidden treasures as breakfast bar becomes chess board and old lamps are repurposed into creative light pulls. With underfloor heating and river view the quaint kitchen welcomes you in, opening out into a charming dining room, seamlessly combining its traditional exposed beams and panel walls with an imaginative modern twist. Feel the comfort of the lounge as it invites you to relax in a large leather armchair by the wood burning stove or embrace a booklovers dream and curl up amongst the pages in the cosy reading nook. The bathroom has both free standing claw foot bathtub and overhead shower as well as underfloor heating adding that extra touch of comfort. The two imaginatively decorated bedrooms encourage you to rest your head as whimsical birds fly freely into the sunset or across the landing you can drift off to sleep amongst the misty mountains. Outside immerse yourself in the delights of the garden room as sheep peacefully graze and the hypnotic sound of the river lulls you into the peace of the Welsh countryside. Explore the land and take the opportunity to fish or potter by the river. Enjoy watching the wildlife from the raised natural sundeck or maybe climb the steps and follow the forest trail to the highest point taking in the views over the sleepy village of Bontnewydd looking towards the bay which can be seen on a clear day. This quirky former keepers lodge is nature at its best with sightings of buzzards, jays, herons, king fishers and many more. Guest access Access the property down a long driveway. There is space to park a maximum of 2 cars at the bottom of the driveway near the house; we advise only 2 cars to ensure there is room to turn around. Alternatively, you may wish to park at the top of the driveway just inside the gate. Please note there is a steep drop down to the river alongside the driveway. You will have access to the full cottage, outdoor Garden room, patio area, and natural sundeck. You can walk up the steps into the 2 acre forest connected with the property and access the river near the bridge a short distance from the entrance to the driveway. You are welcome to fish in the river from our property as the Lodge holds fishing rights. Other things to note We are currently running on electric heaters, you will find one in each room; please use as needed, no additional charges will be added based on usage.
