Description
Our peaceful home is situated within Lancaster's Amish and Mennonite heartland, on one acre of gently sloping land. The spacious layout and wraparound windows were designed to provide the fullest view of the neighboring fields stretching out around us. Ideal for families and for groups of friends looking for a home that balances ample, private sleeping spaces and a large common gathering area. The space Our home was built in 1977, a rancher with a daylight basement. We've thoroughly redesigned it over the ensuing years, and in 2017 we added an addition, extending our original living room and kitchen to create a large, gathering area that now includes a dining room and family room as well. Taller ceilings and large windows surrounding the gathering area provide an unparalleled view of the farmland that flanks our home on two sides. Our kitchen is well stocked and ready to go for those who fancy preparing all their own meals. Extending from the main gathering area is a hallway that provides access to three bedrooms and a bathroom. Two of the bedrooms are home to queen size beds. The third bedroom includes a desk and a bunkbed (twin up top, full down below). The bathroom has a tiled, full shower. The basement is accessed from a door in the main gathering area, with an additional egress through the garage. The basement is divided into quadrants. The southeast quadrant is home to a bathroom (with a full shower), kitchenette, and laundry area. The southwest quadrant is an exercise space composed mostly of free weights, and is off-limits to guests. The northeast quadrant is a sitting area with a smart tv, couches and a table. And, finally, the southwest quadrant is another sleeping area with a queen size bed. Considering our three queen size beds, bunkbed, and multiple couches, our home may be comfortable for groups as large eight. Guest access In addition to the main floor and daylight basement, we hope you'll take advantage of our front porch to catch the evening sunsets, to watch cyclists and buggies, and to wave to walkers. Use the back porch anytime; its a particularly excellent space for more private dinners on days with nice weather. By and large, our home is your home, however there are just a few limitations to review. The southwest quadrant of the basement is an exercise space composed mostly of free weights, and is off-limits to guests. We moved our personal items to several closets throughout the rest of the house, which are clearly labeled. The rest of the closets and drawers are for guests. The garage can be walked through but does not have space for parking, as our cars are stored there. Our driveway, however, has ample parking at the top, with space for four cars. Other things to note Our neighbors across the street are our close friends, an Amish family with a strong history on the land they own and farm. Daily you will witness the movement horse and buggies up and down the street. Wave hi, whenever you see a friendly face! We only ask that you extend respect for their wish not to be photographed.
