🌿 Welcome to Hurstbury An imposing and elegant Victorian manor house built in 1901 in the style of Edwin Lutyens, Hurstbury is set within private landscaped grounds that form an important part of the estate’s historic character. It is believed that Gertrude Jekyll influenced the design of the gardens, which remain a beautiful feature of the property today. The space 🌳 Location Hurstbury is located in Wormley village, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the protected Green Belt of the leafy Surrey Hills. The surrounding countryside offers scenic walks, charming villages and a wonderfully tranquil rural atmosphere. Hurstbury is particularly suited to peaceful countryside retreats, relaxed family stays and elegant celebrations amongst staying guests. Hurstbury is conveniently located on the main rail line to London Waterloo, with journey times of approximately 50 minutes, while Guildford is just 15 minutes away. 🏛 The House The main house offers generous living spaces designed for comfort, gathering and relaxation, including morning rooms, lounge, drawing room, dining room, kitchen and breakfast room. Throughout the house, carefully arranged floral displays add warmth and elegance to the interiors. Generous indoor dining spaces, including long dining tables, make Hurstbury particularly enjoyable for shared meals, family occasions and special dinners. The kitchen is well equipped for larger groups, with a large American-style fridge, modern oven, user-friendly dishwasher and a long breakfast table. 🛏 Bedrooms The main house offers eight spacious guest bedrooms, each furnished with a double or king-size bed. Three bedrooms feature king-size beds which can be arranged as twin beds by prior request. A double sofa bed and additional sleeping arrangements may be available by prior arrangement. Bedrooms not included within the agreed booking arrangements will remain closed. 🌿 The Grounds & Estate Features Hurstbury’s landscaped gardens are an important part of the estate’s historic character and provide a peaceful setting for walking, relaxing and enjoying the surrounding countryside. 🌸 The Greenhouse & Garden Studio A beautiful traditional greenhouse sits within the courtyard and provides a charming sheltered place to sit and enjoy the gardens when the weather turns. Together with the bespoke Garden Studio and courtyard, these spaces provide an attractive setting for dining, family celebrations and special gatherings amongst staying guests, subject to prior arrangement. 🦚 Peacocks & Garden Wildlife Resident peacocks may be seen roaming freely within the grounds, adding to the charm and atmosphere of the estate. Guests are kindly asked not to disturb or feed them. 🕊 The Dovecote A traditional dove house remains as a historic feature of the gardens for guests to enjoy. ☀️ Outdoor Relaxation Sun loungers are available on the patio areas for relaxing and enjoying the garden surroundings. 🎯 Garden Games Guests may enjoy croquet, a classic country-house pastime, for quiet recreation on the lawn. 🏓 Table Tennis A table-tennis table is available for light recreation by prior arrangement. 🌿 Gardens & Courtyard The manor is surrounded by mature landscaped grounds featuring layered planting, specimen trees and peaceful lawns. Guests are welcome to stroll through and enjoy the main gardens for relaxation and quiet enjoyment throughout their stay. The patio provides a lovely setting for everyday outdoor dining and family meals. The courtyard, newly created in 2025, provides another attractive setting for outdoor dining, while the Garden Studio may be available by prior arrangement for catered dinners and extended dining arrangements. Guests are kindly asked to respect neighbouring properties and help preserve the peaceful atmosphere of the estate, particularly during the evening. Activities likely to cause excessive noise or disturb neighbouring properties are not permitted. 🔥 Barbecue Barbecue equipment is available for outdoor cooking in the designated area. 🥂 Indoor Gatherings Guests have use of comfortable lounges within the main house, providing generous space for conversation, relaxation and shared evenings together. Adjacent to the courtyard is the bespoke Garden Studio, which provides an additional indoor option for dining and gatherings amongst staying guests when the weather is less favourable. Use of the Garden Studio should be arranged in advance. ⸻ The following facilities and rooms are provided for cooperate retreat and Executive stays for company only . Not available for ordinary bookings 💼 Corporate Retreats & Executive Stays Hurstbury also offers a distinctive private countryside setting for company retreats, senior management retreats, strategy stays, team gatherings and small product launches. For corporate bookings, additional facilities can be made available, including the 50 sqm Oak Room with large-screen TV, suitable for presentations, meetings and group sessions. Together with the Garden Studio and Glass Room, approximately 100 sqm of flexible additional indoor space can be provided for corporate use. The courtyard offers further flexible space and, by prior arrangement, can be combined with a marquee or gazebo to provide a substantial covered area. For colleagues who prefer individual sleeping arrangements, corporate accommodation can be specially configured to provide up to 16 individual beds as standard. A 9th bedroom and further sleeping arrangements are also available for corporate bookings by prior arrangement. Additional corporate spaces, accommodation configurations and special arrangements are available at an additional charge and should be discussed with us before booking. Outdoor Corporate Space The landscaped grounds and courtyard provide generous additional outdoor space for corporate groups. The courtyard can be arranged for outdoor dining, informal team discussions or breaks between sessions. By prior arrangement, a marquee or gazebo can be provided to create a substantial covered outdoor area, complementing the approximately 100 sqm of additional indoor corporate space. The gardens themselves provide a peaceful setting for walking, conversation and relaxation between meetings, while remaining subject to Hurstbury’s outdoor noise and activity rules. Guest access 🔑 Guest Access During your stay, you’ll enjoy exclusive access to the Main House, swimming pool, courtyard, and all designated guest areas. We host only one guest group at a time, ensuring a private and relaxing experience. For your comfort and privacy, any areas not included in the booking may be locked or clearly marked as private. Other things to note 🏡 Estate Information Hurstbury is a privately managed historic estate with discreet on-site management. Guests have exclusive use of the booked main house and designated guest areas throughout their stay, including acres of beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces. Some areas of the estate are reserved for private management use and are clearly identified with discreet signage. These areas are not included with guest bookings. Management operates from separate, self-contained accommodation and is responsible for maintaining the estate, assisting guests when required and ensuring the House Rules are observed. Guest privacy is always respected. 🏊 Swimming Pool The swimming pool is intended for relaxation and family enjoyment within the peaceful setting of the estate. There is additional charge for heated pool . * Food, alcohol and glassware are not permitted in the pool area. * Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. * Please be considerate of our neighbours. Loud music, screaming, shouting at the top of your voice, chanting, diving, jumping, horseplay, rough play, organised pool games, competitions and any activities likely to disturb neighbouring properties are not permitted. * Guests under the influence of alcohol should not use the swimming pool.
