🌿 Welcome to Hurstbury An imposing and elegant Victorian manor house built in 1901 in the style of Edwin Lutyens, Hurstbury is set within private landscaped grounds that form an important part of the estate’s historic character. It is believed that Gertrude Jekyll influenced the design of the gardens, which remain a beautiful feature of the property today. The space 🌳 Location Hurstbury is located in Wormley village, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the protected Green Belt of the leafy Surrey Hills. The surrounding countryside offers scenic walks, charming villages, and a wonderfully tranquil rural atmosphere. Hurstbury is best suited in peaceful countryside retreat offering a unique setting for relaxed family stay and elegant indoor celebrations. It is in the main line from London Waterloo and it takes 50 minutes to get Waterloo station. 15 minutes to Guildford. 🏛 The House The main house offers generous living spaces designed for comfort, gathering, and relaxation. These include: • Morning rooms • Lounge • Drawing room • Dining room • Kitchen • Breakfast room Throughout the house, you’ll find carefully arranged silk floral displays, adding warmth and elegance to the interiors. Indoor dining spaces include long tables that comfortably seat up to 16 guests, making Hurstbury ideal for shared meals and indoor gatherings. The kitchen is well equipped for larger groups, featuring a large American-style fridge, a modern oven, and a user-friendly dishwasher. ⸻ 🛏 Bedrooms Hurstbury offers eight guest bedrooms, each furnished with a double bed. Three of the bedrooms feature king-size beds, which can be arranged as twin beds upon request. Additional folding beds may be provided in larger bedrooms or common areas by prior arrangement. Bedrooms not included in a booking will remain locked. Guest access 🌿 The Grounds & Estate Features Hurstbury’s gardens are an important part of the estate’s character and provide a peaceful setting to relax and enjoy the countryside. 🌸 The Greenhouse A beautiful traditional greenhouse sits within the courtyard area and is available for guests to enjoy. It offers a charming sheltered space and can be used as a pleasant spot to sit if the weather turns. The greenhouse also forms part of the estate pathways, allowing discreet access for property management when needed. Available only pre- booking in advance 🦚 Peacocks & Garden Wildlife Resident peacocks may be seen roaming freely within the grounds, adding to the charm and atmosphere of the estate. Guests are kindly asked not to disturb or feed them. 🕊 The Dovecote A traditional dove house remains as a historic feature of the gardens for guests to enjoy. ☀️ Outdoor Relaxation Sun loungers are available on patio areas for relaxing in the garden surroundings. 🎯 Garden Games Guests may enjoy a game of croquet on the lawn, a classic country house pastime. 🏓 Table Tennis A table tennis table is available for light recreation during your stay. Pre arrange in advance. 🍽 Outdoor Dining The courtyard includes a long table for outdoor dining and shared meals in a sheltered garden setting. 🔥 Barbecue Barbecue equipment is available for outdoor cooking in the designated area. 🎉 Indoor Event Spaces Guests have use of three comfortable lounges within the house, offering generous space for indoor entertainment, music, and shared evenings together. In addition, adjacent to the courtyard is an indoor bespoke garden studio room, ideal for dining or gatherings if the weather is less favourable. To preserve the peaceful surroundings, sound from indoor events should not be audible outside the building. Available for pre booking in advance 🌿 Gardens & Grounds The manor is set within mature landscaped grounds featuring layered planting, specimen trees, and peaceful lawns. Guests are welcome to stroll and enjoy the main gardens for quiet relaxation. The courtyard is the designated area for outdoor dining and drinks. The historic swimming pool forms part of the estate landscape and is not available for guest use. Other things to note 🌿 Estate Setting & Guest Privacy Hurstbury is a privately managed historic estate accessed via a shared entrance drive. As part of the day-to-day care of the house, gardens, and resident birds, guests may occasionally see discreet estate management on the grounds. Guest privacy is always respected. Management does not enter guest accommodation areas and will only make contact if assistance is requested or in the unlikely event of an urgent property matter.
