Perfect for your next weekend away or extended stay, for family and friends visiting the area, business trips, weddings, reunions, girls trips and much much more. The space Centrally located in historic Monongahela with easy walking access to downtown specialty stores, churches, super markets, library, our historic society/welcome center, river-front aquatorium, and more. But best of all, we are 1 block away from our beautiful city park which has constant seasonal events such as the Friday night farmers market, town wide (twice yearly) yard sale, musical events, outdoor church services, festivals, and holiday themed events. For history lovers, our local historical society can fill your visit with everything from Indian burial mounds, the whiskey rebellion, historic ghost tours, Underground Railroad, a national historic landmark, and much much more. Less than an hours drive away in either direction, you can find yourself in the lively downtown Pittsburgh or one of its surrounding, individually unique neighborhoods. We are very acquainted to the city and can always help our guests point out the highlights, best restaurants and must-sees of each area. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the beautiful Laurel Highlands encompass quaint little hamlets, historic forts, parks such as Ohio Pyle with acres and miles of forests, streams and trails for amazing outdoor adventures. Not to mention. 2 tourable Frank Lloyd Wright homes- Falling Water and Kentuck Knob. For trail riders and walkers, there are multiple access points to the Great Allegheny Passage, one being 25 minutes or less away in Homestead or West Newton. During your stay, you will feel right at home as we have chosen high-quality mattresses & linens, cozy throw blankets for cool nights and winter months, and comfortable furniture throughout the home. All on top of stylish, chic decor to add some shine to your trip. Our dining room is equipped with a 6-person table with 2 extra seats for any special gatherings you may be hosting. You will also find a china cabinet with more formal dinnerware, stemware and table linens to make your celebration something special. For more casual entertaining, we offer 3 outdoor spaces for your enjoyment and relaxation. The front porch with rocking chairs and a bench for people watching, a more private back porch for morning coffees and an evening glass of wine, a yard for the kids to play or for outdoor games with family and friends, and finally a pea gravel patio with a lounging area and outdoor dining area equip with a charcoal grill and fire pit. You will also find 2 beach cruiser bicycles to explore the town or a fun ride to the local coffee shop. Our 1890's home is a work of love and a work in progress. We hope you enjoy and love its quirky old bones as much as we do, no matter brings you into town!
