The space The cottage has its own large and private garden, with parking right outside the front door. The garden is fully enclosed and pet safe. Ground floor: The cosy living room has a fireplace with a wood burner, TV, piano and comfy sofas. There is access to the garden and a small desk for any work! The fitted kitchen has gas/electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, filter coffee & toaster, along with anything else you might need. A utility room contains a washing machine, fridge-freezer, iron and cleaning supplies. Bathroom with walk-in shower, and separate toilet. Towels provided. Set in the Perigord Limousin Natural Regional park, we are 1.5km from the small village of Saint-Estephe, which has its own boulangerie and bar, as well as the popular 'Grand Etang de St-Estèphe' - the local leisure lake which this year has the Pavillon Bleu France label, a guarantee of good swimming quality. The sandy beach has lifeguards during high season with kayaks and paddle boards available. Refreshments around the lake. Enjoy delicious local food by the lake at the Producers Market, every Monday evening during July and August. The area is peaceful, green & wooded - Perigord Vert! There are countless footpaths and bridleways right outside the front door, ideal for walking and mountain biking. The local town of Piegut (6km) holds a popular market every Wednesday, with an abundance of local produce, and there is also a good choice of restaurants - with Bistros and Michelin Stars all available nearby. Supermarkets, shops and fuel can be found in Piegut and Nontron - both only 7km away from the cottage. We are one hour's drive from the major towns of Perigueux, Angouleme and Limoges and two hours from Bordeaux. Access by train (TGV): Angouleme; by air to Limoges, Bergerac or Bordeaux.
