Welcome to Orchid, a bright and airy first-floor apartment in the beautiful Tithe Barn at Stancombe Manor. With lovely views across the pond and gardens, this peaceful retreat sits within a ten acre estate surrounded by cider orchards, open green space and woodland in the heart of South Hams, an officially designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The space Orchid has been thoughtfully refurbished with comfort, quality and practicality in mind. It’s ideal for two adults and we’ve had plenty of families enjoy the space too. We can provide a travel cot, and the sofa bed in the lounge works well for an adult or one to two children. The spacious open-plan living/dining area includes: - A fully equipped kitchen (oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, dishwasher) - Two large sofas – one of which becomes a comfortable sofa bed - Smart TV, DVDs, books, local info and free Wi-Fi - Doggy water and food bowls The king-size bed in the bedroom can be set up as two singles if preferred, and there’s generous wardrobe and storage space. The en-suite bathroom includes a powerful overhead shower, bath, toilet, sink, heated towel rail and fan heater. There’s a small lobby between the bathroom and living area with a washer-dryer and a handy spot for coats and shoes, plus a second door to the bathroom from here for extra convenience. Guest access You’ll have full use of the apartment via your private front door, as well as free access to all of Stancombe Manor’s shared facilities, including: Heated indoor swimming pool and sauna Snooker room Tennis court (please bring your own rackets) Games room Pitch and putt Children’s play area There’s one allocated parking space for the apartment. (Please note: there isn’t an EV charger available at the moment.) Other things to note WiFi is available. One small, short-haired, well-behaved dog is very welcome! (£5 extra per night) Please bring your own beach or pool towels. Please do let us know when booking if you would like the king-size bed split into two singles, or the travel cot set up. Stancombe Manor is wonderfully secluded, which means the lanes leading here are narrow and winding in places, but there are lots of passing spots, and local drivers are generally friendly and patient. It’s all part of the charm of rural Devon!
