Capitol Hill Basement Apartment - Private Parking

Welcome to DC's Capitol Hill! If you’re looking for a quiet, neighborhood feel, with easy access to all that DC has to offer, then this apartment is for you. This 1BR/1BA unit is in a historic district, on a quaint residential street that's walking distance to attractions like Lincoln Park, H Street Corridor, and Eastern Market. It’s just one block to a bus stop and a half mile to the Metro, putting sites like the U.S. Capitol, Library of Congress and Supreme Court right at your fingertips! The space The space is located on the lower level of our historic rowhouse, an entirely separate English basement with a private entrance from the alleyway behind the house. Features include a gated parking space that will fit most vehicles, private backyard, light-filled dining area, and a full bath with toiletries provided. The recently renovated full kitchen has all the cooking and dining supplies you could want. The living room includes a leather sofa large enough to sleep a third guest, and a Smart TV (you'll need your own subscriptions). The bedroom has a comfortable queen-sized bed, dresser, blackout curtains and a sound machine, with a closet that contains extra towels, pillow, and iron/ironing board. Guest access Guests will be able to access the basement apartment through the private, rear entrance from the alleyway behind the house. Once the gate code is entered, the door will open into the private backyard. The car gate can be manually opened from the inside to pull a car into the parking space. Down a short sidewalk will be the door to the basement apartment, which is at floor level. Both the gate and the basement door can be unlocked with a unique access code for your privacy. Other things to note Public transit in DC is fantastic, but can be confusing for first-time users, so please let us know if you have any questions. The nearest Metro stop to our house is the Stadium-Armory station (half mile walk), which is on the Blue/Orange/Silver lines - these lines take you directly to the National Mall, monuments and Smithsonian museums. Transfers can be made to other lines so that you can basically get anywhere you want to go on the Metro. The buses may not come as frequently, but are still a great option for sight-seeing. Our house is 1 block away from a stop on the D24 bus route, which takes you straight across the city towards Union Station, downtown DC, and the White House. Both MetroBus and MetroRail can be paid for by purchasing a SmarTrip card in the wallet on your smartphone and loading money onto it as you go. Physical cards can also be purchased at most MetroRail stations. Each person will need their own card. You can now also use a debit/credit card, either the physical card or the mobile wallet on your phone, to tap-and-pay for the MetroRail (MetroBus still requires a SmarTrip card). Google Maps is an excellent way to navigate the city using public transit. Rideshare apps and taxis are of course another great option for getting around.
