Welcome to The Cabin at Arbutus View! Escape to this peaceful, three-story cabin nestled in the quiet forests of Indianola. Surrounded by towering trees, it feels like a secluded, park-like retreat - perfect for rest and relaxation. The cabin has been thoughtfully renovated to offer modern comforts while preserving its classic cabin charm. Walk to Indianola Beach and the waterfront, or enjoy being minutes from White Horse Golf Course. A great central base for exploring the Kitsap Peninsula. The space This traditional log cabin is tucked away more than 200 feet from the host’s home, offering privacy and a true sense of retreat. The property spans over 5 acres, much of which guests are welcome to explore. Towering madronas (genus Arbutus), cedar and fir trees surround the cabin, creating a peaceful woodland setting where nature abounds with birds and local wildlife. This is a true escape—quiet, secluded, and perfect for relaxation. The front door opens into the main level fully equipped kitchen with all essential amenities, along with a dining table that seats four. (The igniters on the gas stovetop sometimes do not work. There is a butane lighter to light the burners.) Also on the main level is a cozy living room with a sofa bed and gas fireplace. Step outside onto the partial wraparound deck, complete with seating to enjoy the outdoors. Relax at the sofa table and take in the fresh air while enjoying the gas fire table for an amazing outdoor experience. The spacious primary bedroom is located on the third floor and features a king-size bed, a ¾ bathroom, a comfortable living area, and an office space. Please note: this level is accessed by steep log stairs/ladder. (See pictures) The second bedroom is located on the lower level and includes a queen-size bed and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower and slipper tub. This level can be accessed from the living room via carpeted stairs and also has a door leading directly to the lower deck, patio, and yard. The yard and surrounding property are beautifully landscaped, providing plenty of space to relax outdoors. Guests are also welcome to enjoy a campfire at the fire pit. Please bring your own firewood, or firewood may be purchased on-site. Guest access Your booking includes exclusive use of the entire cabin and its spacious yard, which features a fire pit for outdoor enjoyment. A shared herb garden is located across from the cabin—feel free to help yourself. Please only take what you need. Guests can also access the open field, dotted with large trees and a fenced fruit tree orchard. (If you go inside the fenced area please close the gate upon leaving). At the top of the field, you will find a sitting area - take a moment to relax and enjoy the view. Please note that access to the homeowners’ private yard is not included. Other things to note Important Notes Access Road: The cabin is reached via a private, unpaved road with loose gravel and dirt, which can become muddy during rain. It’s maintained by local landowners. Please drive slowly—10 mph is recommended. Power Outages: Occasional power outages can occur, especially in winter. The cabin is equipped with an automatic backup generator. You may hear it briefly during its mid-week automatic test. Wildlife: The cabin is located in the woods and native wildlife is common. Please do not leave food outside, as it attracts animals. Wildlife may include birds, bees, chipmunks, squirrels, raccoons, deer, coyotes, river otters, snakes, and occasionally black bears. *We do have bee hives on the property. If you have concerns or questions, I can provide more information. Windows & Doors: The cabin has screened windows for fresh air. Please keep doors closed to prevent bugs, wildlife (bats may fly in at night), and visits from my friendly chocolate lab who occasionally stops by to greet guests—and check for unattended food. Ferry Traffic: Ferry traffic is busiest Friday through Sunday. For a smoother trip, consider arriving on Thursday and/or departing on Monday.
