The cottage is nestled amongst the trees in a quiet neighborhood 3 miles from Seward. Our place is perfect for those who want to enjoy the natural surroundings of the area yet want to be close to town and Kenai Fjords National Park. The kitchen is fully stocked to enjoy your meals and the deck over looking the Kenai Mountains is a wonderful way to start your day with a morning coffee. The property is perfect for those wanting an Alaskan experience. There is a campfire area to roast marshmallows (or a freshly caught salmon). Later in summer the woods on the property are filled with blueberries wanting to be picked and put on ice cream! We embrace the AirBnB concept that you are our guest during your visit. We live on an adjacent lot and are available to answer questions about the area. There is SOOOO much to do in the Seward area. We raised our two kids here relishing the rich outdoor life style. We'd like to share this with you. Want to know the best trails in the area (there's tons)...we know them. Want to know best places to kayak, to eat ,or to fish? We got it covered. We're happy to provide the information so that you will have a memorable experience in the Great Land. The Property is located on a quiet hillside overlooking Resurrection Bay. Seward Harbor is 3 miles away and is a pleasant bike ride (there is a bike trail that leads into town). Although you may not even want to go into town--it's just too much fun up here at the property! PLEASE NOTE: THE TOILET! The property has modern plumbing however it does utilize a waterless toilet. It is a Swedish invention (leave it to the Swedes to reinvent the john) which is an environmentally oriented alternative to septic systems. Pee and poo are separated... the pee goes into a gray water system into the ground while the poo is kept in a container below the toilet and disposed of later (Don't worry, this is emptied before each visit). A quiet fan keeps the room smelling fresh. It's really amazing technology and represents a lower environmental impact than traditional septic systems. Also please note: The driveway is shared with another rental on an adjacent lot.
