Rox Villa Beach House
Rox Villa
Description
Rox Villa is situated in Rooi-Els an idyllic beach house location, a mere 45 minutes from Cape Town International Airport and an hour from the Cape Town City Centre. The property lies sleepily under the Klein-Hangklip mountain in the Kogelberg Biosphere and is a sanctuary from hurried city-life where you will experience ocean and mountains, surrounded by waves, rocks, fauna and flora. The space Rox Villa offers privacy, peace and comfort with direct access to mountains and ocean where you have an immediate connection with both. Rox Villa is a place of breath-taking beauty where every room in the house promises a view more astounding than the previous. Whether you are a wine lover, outdoor enthusiast, landscape photographer, or you are simply looking for somewhere magnificent to get away to, Rox Villa Guest Beach House is the place for you! Guest access Rooi Els perches like a child's puzzle piece on the edge of Route 44, the first little seaside village after leaving Gordon's Bay, before the landmark of Hangklip rock face. Rooi-Els is also a registered conservancy in its own right, the beauty of the environment devotedly preserved by its residents. The residential part of town winds along a couple of streets that are set closer to the shore. Homes vary from little seaside cottages to the more opulent beachside manors. Rooi Els does not boast a long strip of sandy beach as its angular nature means that the little town is surrounded on three sides by water. To the east is the Rooi Els River estuary that drains into the sea after flowing under the bridge that carries Route 44 across it. It is a beautiful beach to walk on, swim in and dive and boat from, and sunsets here are notorious. It also functions as an excellent whale watching site during winter. Birders love Rooi Els for the endemic Cape rockjumper, rock thrush and other unusual birds, and residents even claim to have seen the odd leopard on their roads on a moonlit night. On the north bank of the Rooi Els River, roughly a kilometre from the sea, is the Rooiels Cave where Stone Age relics have been uncovered. Whilst holidaying in Rooi Els a car is a must to enable you to visit the many surrounding tourist attractions. Access to beaches, hiking trails, shops and restaurants can be done on foot. There is ample secure parking on the property. Other things to note Refundable damage deposit of R8000 due one week prior to arrival via eft charged by the host. This deposit is fully refunded via bank transfer if within 7 days if there is no damage to the property after check-out. Rox Villa is not suitable for children under the age of 5yrs as there is direct access to open roof-top and beachfront No more than 6 guests allowed on the property at all times There is a seperate Cottage on the property which shares some common outdoor areas when it is booked Legislation limits light pollution to the boundaries of the property and in Rooi Els to preserve the awesome beauty of the night sky, light pollution is limited to the inside of houses. Rooi Els is one of those rare communities that can still marvel at the Milky Way. Fires and Braais are not permitted on beaches or Nature Reserves. Braais in residential homes are not permitted when windy. There is a local baboon troop of about 24. Baboons if given the slightest opportunity will enter homes in search of food. Keep window openings limited to 70mm and close and lock doors and screen doors behind you. The house has baboon proof locks on all exterior windows and there is an electric fence to keep the baboons out of the courtyard area. Keep your car doors locked at all times as they can open unlocked doors. Apart from a scattering of tiny shops and restaurants in Rooi Els, the area is focused on things to do that are based solely on the beauty of the ocean and surrounding mountains. I am a lover of the active ocean lifestyle and my passion is sharing this knowledge by providing my guests with the most rewarding and personalized experience in an unforgettable location.
