Caravan at Gatherwild Ranch
Adorable cabin made by artist Paul Jacobsen snuggles in a full size bed and sits in the valley of a former apple orchard at Gatherwild Ranch. 1 of 8 accommodations on the property. Not quite a tiny home, the bathrooms and kitchen are shared amenities on the property, it's a totally private space with just what you need including a propane stove for heat in the colder months. The stargazing here is spectacular! Placed on 15 acres of land to roam. Pets are welcome (See below for details). Join us at Gatherwild Ranch and enjoy this cozy hand built cabin. It gets lots of sunlight, and just enough space for the basics. There is no electricity or running water inside the accommodations, but there is at the outdoor kitchen and barn lounge area. We provide drinking water, and deck chairs with a firepit outside. The full bed has a down comforter and extra wool blankets for cool nights. Please note that there is no electricity or running water in this accommodation. We light the area with solar lighting and battery lanterns, and a battery fan. The bathhouse is a brand new communal space just a short walk from the caravan. You are free to roam the acres. There are walking paths, a barn lounge, farm animals to visit with, a large garden, a small shop, and farm fresh food offering in the summer. The outdoor kitchen is protected and can be used in sun or rain, it contains all of the cooking utensils & pots and pans, a propane stove & cooktop, charcoal grill and shared outlets for charging devices. There are 2 bikes to borrow - both with larger frames - please be an experienced cyclist to ride. All accommodations are weather proof. Usually more fun in the sun, but rain gives reason to sip wine in the outdoor kitchen looking out or snuggle inside. We sell ice and firewood on site. We welcome dogs for an additional $25 non-refundable pet deposit. Please be mindful of cleanliness of dogs on the linens and carpets. Any damage above normal laundering will be charged in addition. Germantown has 1 amazing market named Otto's where you can purchase all the necessities. 1 amazing restaurant named Gaskins with farm-fresh food and great cocktails. 1 liquor store & main street offering a couple of shops to peruse. 15 minutes to Hudson (all the restaurants & shopping you could desire) 15 minutes to Red Hook Driving is about 2.25 hours from NYC. I suggest the Taconic Parkway - it's much more scenic and equally if not more efficient. We recommend having a car to enjoy the area fully, but is definitely accessible without one as well. Train to Rhinecliff or Hudson, both are a 20 minute drive away. Taxi ranges from $25-$35 each way from there. We offer bicycles to explore the area; although a hilly ride, you can get to the general market, restaurant and swimming hole by bike if you don't have a car. We will provide info via text a week prior to your stay with best practices and recommendations on where to dine, hike, and entertain. We are available on site and by text. Please use the map provided to find your way to parking and your accommodation. We look forward to hosting you!
