Stay at our tranquil cottage just steps from the beautiful Magnetewan River. Located in Burks Falls, just a short distance to Huntsville, Algonquin Park, and many fishing, hiking and boating attractions. This spacious single level cottage is wheelchair accessible and provides lovely views and direct access to a beautiful river with all the amazing benefits. Perfect for fishing enthusiast, bird watchers, or families wanting to enjoy swimming and boating then end each day with S'Mores by the fire. The space Our single level cottage has an airy, open concept living space, and 3 bedrooms, with a fully wheelchair accessible washroom. With the addition of provided air mattresses you could sleep up to 10 people. The kitchen is stocked with all of your culinary needs, pots, pans, dishes, etc. All beds are provided with soft, clean bedding, and in the bath, you will find plush towels and minor necessities. For our longer stay guests, laundry is available onsite. The cottage is situated on a paved road just minutes from town with ample parking so you can bring all of your gear. The level lane and ramps into the cottage are inclusive of all guests. The mostly flat property is perfect for pitching a tent or playing in the yard. We love to spend time in the screened porch with beautiful views of the river and warm sun filtering through the trees. On a quiet, rainy day you may find yourself curled up by the fireplace with a hot cup of tea and a good book. Or snuggle down with the kids on the couch with a movie, we have lots to choose from. With direct access to Magnetewan River, you have an amazing opportunity for swimming, fishing, or taking the canoe out for a fun trip. If boating is your thing, boat rentals are available just minutes down the road at Port Carmen Marina. With the nearby river our property has many wildlife wonders at the doorstep. Perfect for the bird watcher in you. Watch for the heron to land just accross the river each morning. Just down the river there is a small beaver dam where you can sometimes spot the beavers splashing around in the water. You may find a fun little visitor running around if your quiet, as we have a cute little otter who sometimes comes up onto the lawn to sunbath. Our nephews like to call him "Slick" but remember to keep your distance until he returns to his normal home as we don't want him getting too used to humans. Within close proximity is the renowned Screaming Heads, a fantastical, wonderfully fun place to take a stroll. And if you should find yourself wanting a little more, Algonquin or Arrowhead Provincial parks are just a short trip away. With small town vibes, enjoy a fun farmers market on a Saturday morning in Burk's Falls or the Village of Magnetewan. Then cook up some dinner on the BBQ and relax yourself at the end of the day with some S'mores by the fire. If you're staying with us in the winter, we are situated just a short distance to multiple first-class snowmobile trails. Making our cottage an easy and convenient hub for trips in any direction. Many of the local lakes boast fishing huts for rent so you can try your luck at ice fishing in comfort. You may even want to bring your snowshoes or ice skates for some fun in the snow on the many trails or outdoor rinks in the area. Guest access We allow access to the entire cottage. With access ramps on both sides of the cottage and ample space inside we aim to be inclusive of everyone. You will be provided a door code up to 24 hours before arrival. We want everyone to be comfortable during their stay. You will find a BBQ for your use at the front of the cottage. Please be sure to turn the propane off after use. A canoe, paddles and lifejackets are available for your use. As well as Noodles for your swimming/floating enjoyment. We ask that you follow water safety, and boating regulations if you choose to make use of these items. Please return these items in the condition they were found. We ask that you be mindful of your impact on the river and its natural inhabitants. A firepit and wood are provided for your enjoyment, please use responsibly in the area provided.
