Quaint Country Suite

This modest studio apartment is great for a peaceful getaway, a last-minute stop-over, or even an extended stay for traveling professionals. The area features nearby Sandy Creek bike trail, State Game Lands, and the small town of Cranberry, PA just 5 miles down the road. Associated with the St. Thomas More House of Prayer, a Catholic Retreat Center in the midst of rural Northwest PA, you'll also find the grounds ideal for a nice walk or quiet reflection. The space The suite is situated above the garage of a house and has its own private entrance. Just like a studio apartment, the bedroom, living & dining area, and kitchen are all contained in the same room. The full bathroom is its own room with a locking door. Please note that this listing does NOT have WiFi or a TV. While cell signal is available, it's also ideal if you're looking to unplug and unwind. KITCHEN & DINING This space has a gas range, small refrigerator/freezer (NEW in 2024), microwave, sink, and small counter space with a single-serve and auto-drip coffee maker. While small, the kitchen has everything you need to cook your favorite meals. This includes pots and pans, cooking utensils, and of course plates, bowls, silverware, and cups. We provide coffee and tea selections, as well as sugar packets and creamers. Enjoy your coffee at the small café table which seats two, or relax on one of the cushioned chairs near the entrance. SLEEPING & CLOTHING STORAGE The queen-sized bed sleeps two and all sheets, blankets, and pillows are included. On one side is a small cube storage unit with two fabric bins for clothing storage, and a place to hang clothes (hangers included) and store extras on the mounted shelf. DESK & LOUNGE SPACE The other side of the bed features a 43” trestle desk with a leather office chair. Opposite the bed are two cushioned lounge chairs with an end table between. This is a great spot to relax with your coffee or tea, or enjoy a good book. The open design of the space allows for freedom of movement for all pieces of furniture (except those associated with the kitchen). BATHROOM The bathroom includes a locking door for privacy, vanity with mirror and sink, toilet, stand-up shower with soap and shampoo, and towels. Please only flush toilet paper and natural waste to help keep the septic system in good order. CATHOLIC RETREAT CENTER Upon entering the property, you will notice that the grounds are the home of the St. Thomas More House of Prayer and Retreat Center. This is a Roman Catholic retreat house that features a schedule of daily prayer times in the chapel, or the option of private/group retreats upon further inquiry. The grounds are mostly wooded and are great for a leisurely walk any time of year. While you are free to walk the grounds, please be courteous to other guests who may be present specifically for the retreat house or chapel. Julie or I (Ryan) will respond promptly! Guest access The entrance to the Country Suite is located at the top of a staircase on the side of the house’s garage. The parking area is a short walk from the stairs and has plenty of space for any sort of vehicle. Just park, walk down the driveway of the house, and you’ll see the stairs to the left of the garage door. Other things to note This suite does NOT include a TV or internet. Cell service is just fine in the area if you are planning to stream content from a phone or tablet. The suite is above a garage that stores the water treatment system for the property. Occasionally you may hear a pump turn on for a minute or two to fill the storage tank. This is nothing to worry about and is completely normal. Thanks for understanding!
