Gilly’s Getaway!

Welcome to Gilly's Getaway, your home away from home on the premises of a working nonprofit animal sanctuary. This basement apartment has its own private entrance, full kitchen w/dishwasher and laundry and a desk to be used as a workspace, should you need it. We are home to goats, hens, roosters, ducks, geese, turkeys, dogs & cats. Enjoy the animals from a distance, or set up a time to meet the residents! Either way, enjoy your stay! The space Dedicated to Old Man Gilly goat, my resident best friend, Gilly's Getaway is a 1 bedroom apartment located on the premises of a working livestock & poultry nonprofit charitable organization, Old McDarling's Farm Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. We are close to hiking & biking trails, local hospitals and loads of restaurants and shopping! Like wine? Enjoy several local wineries - Cove Point Winery & Perigeaux Winery to name a couple. How about nature & hiking? We're only a few minutes from both Calvert Cliffs & Jefferson Patterson Park. We are approximately 20 minutes from PAX Naval Base, and a short, 3 minute drive to Cove Point Park (basketball, tennis and a pool (seasonal). We are only 3 minutes from Cove Point Gas Plant, 10 minutes from Calvert Cliffs Power Plant, as well as Solomons, MD and museums (Calvert Marine Museum & Ann-Marie Gardens). We're also near to the Patuxent River where you can enjoy tiki boat trips, fishing, dining and walking the boardwalk. Within driving distance to Andrews AFB, Washington DC, Baltimore and more, the sky's the limit when you stay with us! DoorDash & GrubHub deliver to our address. We are home to several species of animals and while the apartment is separated from the animals, you will hear them. If you wish to spend time with the goats, who LOVE visitors, please set up a time with me to do so. Guest access The apartment is completely private and you will have access to the entire space. Livingroom, one bedroom, one full bathroom and a kitchen with dishwasher and laundry. Other things to note We are a nonprofit rescue sanctuary, with goats and poultry outdoors. There are dogs, cats and a an occasional goat in the home (not accessible to your space but you will hear little hoof tippy-taps from time to time).
