I live in a two-story ranch home with a full daylight two-bedroom apartment on the lower level. With full southern exposure to a forested green-space, it's anything but MAD! After goings on about town, come here to relax and revitalize. Want to have lots of space and experience Portland greenery within ten minutes of downtown? This is the place for you! Enjoy the sunrise and patio view into the woods, take a stroll through the trees, feel the radiant floor heating or sit a spell in front of the fireplace. This space is ideal for small groups looking for a balance of Portland's natural beauty and hopping city life. There is a two person capacity per room (one queen and one king) and a fold out futon in the living room for two additional guests. Both rooms are very spacious and have plenty of natural light. The kitchenette has all the essentials including a comfortable dining area. This space is an in-law apartment separated from the rest of the house by the stairway. There is a private entrance, bathroom, full sized washer and dryer, combination living and dining room space with kitchenette and a gas fireplace. There are also exterior locks for both bedrooms. We live in the upper part of the house (not accessible for guests) but will occasionally need to access the furnace room and our storage space. This makes the apartment hallway a shared area but we will be sure to knock before coming down. We are often home to greet our guests and help them move in. We are also happy to help you find your way through Portland and points of interest. We live here so you can always knock on the door...or give a call. We like a good conversation here and there too! Secluded inner city home which abuts a forested area with walking trails. Very quiet safe neighborhood with occasional wildlife sitings. Great location for guests seeking a balance of Portland's natural beauty and city life. Seven minute walk to bus stop will get you downtown within 15 mins. By car downtown is an easy 10 mins drive. Safe bike routes via Washington Park. For guests without private vehicles, the airport can be accessed via the MAX light rail to Sunset Transit Center. Pick up and drop off from MAX light rail station can be arranged upon request. Portland has a great user friendly transit system! Plenty of street space right out front for parking. Our space is very family friendly! We have a travel crib you are welcome to use and even some children's toys! Please note that our pricing includes a fee for additional guests beyond 4 persons. We are happy to waive this fee for infants but any other children are included in the pricing. Housekeeping is done between separate guest stays, we assure you that everything gets cleaned, including comforter covers. If you are staying with us for more than two weeks we ask that you please perform regular cleaning and maintenance as you would in your own home and notify us immediately if there are any spills/stains that need addressing. We just finished the first phase of our big landscaping/hardscape project which has allowed for the convenient private access to the lower level apartment and for extensive easier to manage yard space (Yes, it's a bit hilly here.). We call it our "prairie ecosystem" with volunteer succulents and wildflowers. The birds love it! More edible landscaping and living wall structures to come. So, don't be discouraged by the minimalist yard. We can show you the before and construction pics of the project...you will be amazed!
