Description

The house is located on a farmyard surrounded by cornfields close to nature and a cultural landscape, with grazing deer on the fields. An old apple tree casts shade in the garden, and from the covered veranda you can enjoy the view of our horses and Lifjell in the distance. The house was built in 1905 and upgraded in 2002. In 2023, we have installed a heat pump, new toilet and shower cubicle, new beds, TV and wi-fi. An old house with modern facilities. Short distance to walking routes and paths. The space The house is comfortably furnished with a mix of old and new interior. In the living room, there is a wood-burning stove with glass, a sofa, armchairs, and a separate nook with a daybed. From the living room there is access to a covered veranda with outdoor furniture. In the kitchen you will find a table with 6 chairs, dishwasher, fridge, stove, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and kettle. The bathroom has a new shower cubicle, toilet and washing machine (2023). On the second floor there are 3 pleasant bedrooms with Queen beds (two of them new in 2023) and a modern office workplace with a view towards the stunning mountain Lifjell. In the immediate area there is a large path network, a short way both up to the mountain and to the Fruit Village Gvarv with its many farm shops. Evju Bygdetun, which is a living museum, is only 800 meters away. It is about 7 km to the center of Bø and 4 km to Gvarv. 10 km away you will find the lovely Patmos sculpture park at Akkerhaugen with a swimming beach and a short distance to Norsjø wakeboard park. Here you can also go on the M/S Telemarken, one of the canal boats on the Telemark Canal or set out in a kayak. The water park Bø Sommerland is 8 km away. Last, but not least, the farm is in the middle of an eldorado for horseback riding (all year), hiking and biking. The stable is under renovation (2023-24), and you will see that we build and run machines on the farm. This is not visible from the veranda you dispose of, but at the entrance to the farm. By the way, did you know that very many people have never seen the starry sky because of light pollution? Take a look at the sky after dark. We welcome you to a quiet, kind house. Guest access Our guests have 3 bedrooms, a separate cupboard in the bathroom, a separate fridge and cupboard for dry goods in the kitchen. Otherwise, the entire house with veranda can be used. Feel free to borrow the books on the bookshelf and put them back. Private parking for up to three cars. We live in the house ourselves, but move out when it is rented out to Air BnB guests. Other things to note There are three ways into the farm, and we want to help you find the easiest way. Therefore, contact us before you arrive, and we will be happy to guide you all the way. This is especially important if you arrive after dark. Do not go in to the horses without us, this is for safety of both you and the horses.
