The stylishly renovated barn and magnificent gardens are perfect as a base for exploring the Macedon Ranges or for simply relaxing in comfort in gorgeous surroundings. The space Honeysuckle Barn is a destination in itself. There’s no need to get in the car when 10 acres of beautiful gardens and countryside are only a few steps from the front door. Explore them at your leisure. Then return to the barn and relax by the wood fire or outside in the cool shade of the trees. CIRCA 1856, The 170-year-old bluestone barn has been lovingly renovated to combine historical features with modern comforts. The bathroom floor is heated, the beds are super-comfy, and there’s a coffee machine to help get your day off to a great start. Enjoy the view through the tall picture window when you’re curled up on the couch by the fire. The old attic, where fodder was once stored, now houses two bedrooms and a beautifully-styled bathroom. Unwind downstairs in the living/dining area, where you can gaze across the countryside beyond the barn. The kitchen has a 3-in1 microwave-oven, a dishwasher and a coffee machine, plus plenty of bench space for you to prepare food. The English-style gardens were established by renowned landscape designer Michael Pithie. Relax by the pond in the Secret Garden, or take a short stroll to the vegetable garden to see what’s in season for picking. With roses, daffodils, tulips and irises in the garden beds, there’s always something in bloom. Enjoy walks, a picnic, or sunset down by one of the dams. If you’re a foodie, Kyneton has you covered. Pop down to one of the restaurants and cafes in Piper Street or pick up some delicious food to prepare at the barn. You can also select fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs from the garden. And don’t forget there are local wineries and distilleries to discover. The owners, Jennifer and Will, live in the homestead on the grounds, but with separate driveways and so much space, you will have a sense of total privacy. And they will happily give you a lift into Kyneton by arrangement. The Barn • Two bedrooms. Guest access Please note: • Dogs are allowed downstairs, provided they are well-behaved, have their own bedding and preferably sleep in a crate (dogs by prior request only, fee applies). • Due to the presence of two dams and a pond, the property is not suitable for young children (no children under 12 years old), and all children must be supervised. • No smoking. • No weddings or events. • No commercial photography. • Only the guests who have made the booking are permitted on the property (no day guests). • No parties, and no Schoolies groups, 18th, 21st, hens, bucks, or other all-male groups. • Subject to terms and conditions of stay.
