Or simply slip into the rhythms of nature on our spacious porch while the wildlife comes to you. Endangered species visit our property! Sandhill Cranes, Gopher Tortoises, Swallow-tailed Kites, Scrub Jays! One large room for bedroom and entertainment area with standing shower in the separate bathroom. Kitchen nook is spacious for 4 top table. Above ground pool outside your back door. Patios in front and back are shaded with seating. Garden views out front with pasture views and pond in back. 5 acres offers plenty of walking, strolling space. The pond and back 3 acres are fully wooded and available for exploring. Photography welcome. Take pictures and leave footprints. Please do not otherwise alter the landscape. There are no stairs in Crooked Hook. Guest entrance is private. We live on property in a full-size house, next door. Each house has a private front porch. Guests are welcome at their comfortability to visit on our porch. We respect the privacy of our guests and do not go to the villa porch except to leave any sundries requested or deliveries to our guests. Guests are welcome and often chose to participate in our activities when we BBQ, have fires, or are star gazing, etc. The back patio and pool are shared with us. We try to be present to welcome guests and provide a happy HELLO in the mornings with our coffee on the porch. Interaction beyond that is at the pleasure of the guests. We are happy to provide suggestions, directions, insights to attractions and the like. Avon Park the City of Charm, approx. 10,000 residents, rural and scenic, composed of historic downtown district, commercial businesses on Rt 27 and surrounded by farmland. We allow pets. Pets should be properly trained, return when called and cleaned up after, please. A "scooper" is provided! We can check on pets that may remain at home while you explore. Please reach out if your pet needs relief while you stay with us. We provide extra bedding for pets. Please try to keep paws on the floor or use the bedding provided for protection of furniture. PLEASE alert us to pet mess so we can assist in timely clean up. We offer a few outdoor activities. We offer fishing and nature tours. Larry can take you to the local spots of interest for wild and endangered animals and fishing. We cannot guarantee the wildlife will cooperate, but we can assure the experience will be informative and fun to see! Larry is an expert fisherman and Susan has a wealth of knowledge to share about animals and plants, or local history. Our seasonal pond is a delightful quiet spot. Once you walk back there it is peaceful and secluded. When it is full, it is a comfortable spot to paddle a kayak among the lily pads. All activities are at the risk of the guest.
