Puke iti - Your adventure base with spa & views

Kick back and relax in this stylish & peaceful mountain chalet. Set in a quiet, leafy position with all the modern conveniences and fantastic views of Mt Ruapehu. Chill out in the spa after a mountain bike, hike or day on the slopes. Sleeps up to 6 adults but is very comfortable for a couple. Quality kitchen appliances, gas infinity hot water, heat pump and wood burner make our home cosy and warm. A short 15 min bush walk along the Maungateitei stream to Ohakune township, restaurants and bars. The space Puke iti has been designed with couples in mind with 3 king size beds. The design maximises the view of Mt Ruapehu and provides a relaxing break in the Mountain town of Ohakune. It’s also the perfect adventure base with excellent bike trails, hiking the Tongariro Crossing, trout fishing, horse riding, canoeing, golf & skiing nearby. Whilst it can accommodate six, it is very comfortable for a couple on their own, which is why we have a base rate for two. Extra guests are an additional $80ppn. Puke iti is unsuitable for infants and young children due to multiple safety hazards. The living areas get plenty of all day sun which, along with the wood burner and heat pump, ensures you will be cosy & warm. We also have a drying room with laundry facilities, under tile heating and a dehumidifier to get those wet items dry so that you are ready to go again the next day. For indoor entertainment there is a TV which has a Chromecast. You can use your phone/device and the wifi to cast to the screen. We also have a selection of board games, jigsaws and books for those stay inside days. The master bedroom has 180 degree views across the fields to Mt Ruapehu, with the added bonus of being able to hear the nearby Mangateitei Stream & Mangawhero River if you open the windows. All bedrooms have king size beds, panel heaters and electric blankets. The nearby river at the bottom of the drive, along with the unprotected wood burner make our home unsuitable for young children. For those who like to cook, like us, we have an induction hob, electric oven, microwave and fridge/freezer. Our kitchen is equiped with a range of small appliances including a sandwich press, slow cooker, bread maker, bialetti espresso coffee pots, French Press, toaster and all the usual pots, pans, bowls and baking trays. A small range of basic spices & condiments are left for you to use if you so desire. We hope that you will enjoy your stay in Ohakune and adventure activities around our region as much as we do.
