Light and airy, this former hop drying kiln makes a wonderful escape for two. Converted in an upside down style, it has a spacious double bedroom on the ground floor and a characterful newly refurbished bathroom with walk-in shower. Upstairs, the bright open plan living area and fully-equipped kitchen has high ceilings and pitched roof windows all round. Outside, there’s a private courtyard patio, perfect for dining al fresco, and a shared walled cottage garden with hammocks chairs & firepit. The space One of five characterful cottages converted from 18C farm buildings, in a peaceful courtyard setting. The Kiln retains the original conical roof cowl typical of the oast houses of the region. Inside, it is tastefully furnished in modern country style, complemented by art from local artists As well as your private patio you are welcome to enjoy the pretty walled cottage garden (shared with other guests) and, in warmer weather, relax in hammock chairs or the outdoor seating. On summer evenings, take in the scent of lavender, jasmine and honeysuckle or light the firepit and, on a clear night, enjoy the starry skies. For stargazing enthusiasts, we have a telescope and binoculars available on request. Rental of the Kiln includes one free half-day use of our tandem bike, ‘Aylton John’, subject to availability. E-bikes and other push bikes available to hire, at a small charge
