The Wine Mountain Retreat was reimagined and thoughtfully refurbished in a modern Scandi-Barn design in 2023. The site and dwelling are inspired by the very popular EcoBarn destination vacation rental the owner’s first Finger Lakes venture. Natural light and stunning views of the surrounding countryside are highlighted. The location is private but less than 3 miles to Seneca Lake and Watkins Glen. Wake up to the sound of birds chirping and feeling connected to nature. Take a walk to the pick your own farm and bakery, 2 vineyards or to the Burdett Mercantile. Relax on one 3 decks to take in the view, gaze at the stars or experience the frequent killer sunsets. Sip your way around Seneca Lake enjoying some of the best wineries and breweries that help make our region is famous. Is golf a passion? Our acreage adjoins Wine Mountain Golf Range, bring your clubs and get a bucket of balls. Soak your cares away in our free standing soaking tub in one of our 2 new full baths or be really adventurous and have an outdoor bubble bath in our “Hilllbilly Hot Tub”, a vintage claw foot tub with a hot water hose. Gather around the fire pit and savor the moment. The home features: 3 bedrooms, one with a king bed, one with a queen and one with 2 twins. All the bedrooms have smart TV, with many streaming options including Hulu live. There are also 2 other smart TVs in common areas. 2 new full baths. The master bath has a freestanding soaking tub, spacious shower area with a rain shower head and hand held. The water pressure is excellent. Large well stocked kitchen with island seating for 5, with open concept dining area seating 4-6. Kitchen features a large refrigerator with filtered water and ice machine, Bosch dishwasher, microwave, gas range, drip coffee maker and toaster. The dining area has glass doors that open to a screened in deck, for dining al fresco with a south west view. Adjacent the kitchen there is a simple laundry area and back door entry. Adjacent the kitchen is also a sun room that’s glass door opens to a deck over looking the backyard and western sky. The home also features a large living area and separate but not private office area. A game closet is filled with games , books and entertainment items. Guest access Entire property and space is for the guest. Not shared. Private, but no access to locked garage and shed. There are no walkable trails to Seneca Lake. Although the lake is only 1/2 mile away it cannot be accessed on foot. The closest access to the lake is 2.3 miles ways. Other things to note The Wine Mountain Retreat is a 5 minute drive to Seneca Lake and Watkins Glen. Situated in a country setting with a golf range, vineyard and pick your own farm as neighbors. Guest cannot walk to the lake. The only access is by car. We aim to minimize outdoor artificial light, reducing light pollution to enhance the beauty of the starry night sky. Motion activated bright lighting disrupts the natural movement of the wildlife we like to attract for our guest’s pleasure. If you live in a suburban or city situation be prepared for darkness at night.
