Your golden share In the southeastern corner of Alijó, Vila Real district, lies the peaceful village of Cotas. A wine village in the Douro sub-region, the river of the same name runs just 15 minutes by car from the house. Also close to the tributary Tua River, which borders the district of Bragança, Cotas is located in a region rich in mountains, plateaus and valleys. The space The proximity to the aforementioned rivers and the Tinhela allow for a diversified geomorphology, also marked by geological variety: granites, quartzite and schists. These areas are populated by vineyards whose continental climate terroir encourages the vast production and cultivation of, for example, Touriga Nacional and Franca, Tinto Cão (red varieties), Moscatel Galego and Códega do Larinho (white). Typically mature, wines are the millennial product of this region that invites wine tourism. Belonging to Alijó, do not forget Favaios. With the famous Moscatel de Favaios and the traditional Pão de Favaios, the table is well set with the sausages of the region. Also there you will find, for example, the Favaios Museum Center, Bread and Wine, the Favaios Cooperative Winery and more places to visit. Rich in landscapes, the region is marked by riverside and inland walks. Miradouro do Ujo and Foz do Tua, for example, are places to consider. In another sense, you can also visit the Pinhão vineyard.
