The Blue House - Hatcher Pass - Palmer

Enjoy a peaceful getaway in the Blue House at the base of Hatcher Pass. Perfect for couples or friends, this two bedroom retreat has amazing views of Government Peak and a private trail to a viewing deck on the Little Susitna River. Relax upstairs in the loft area equipped with games, books and a smart TV. Sleep tight on quality linens & memory foam mattresses. Step outside and enjoy the picnic table, gas grill & firepit. Hiking, biking, skiing & more are just up the road in Hatcher Pass! The space Open & airy, the downstairs living area combines a modern kitchen, stainless steel island, farmstead style dining table, two swivel chairs and a large bay window seat. The first floor bedroom has a double bed, a desk and a large window over looking the garden & back yard. The bathroom is also located downstairs and includes a tub/shower & washer/dryer. Upstairs, the open concept continues with a comfortable sectional couch & large tv in the loft area. Two large picture windows frame the mountain view and keep the loft light & bright. The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed, windows overlooking the garden and lots of space for clothes & luggage. This bedroom is open to the loft but can be closed off with curtains & blinds. Outside you will find a patio table with an umbrella and a small fire pit facing the mountains. Moose, snowshoe hares, ermine, fox & ruffed grouse often cross through the trees just beyond the front lawn along with a wide array of songbirds. Following a short trail from the backyard brings you to a platform overlooking the river and a small area to dip your toes in the water. Eagles, ducks, otters, owls & spawning salmon are some of the wildlife you can observe from the river deck. The Blue House is a peaceful getaway tucked between the mountains & the river, yet close to everything the Matsu Valley has to offer. Guest access The blue house, upper yard & river platform are all yours to enjoy. We share the driveway and live beyond the house in a cabin by the river. We are available for occasional interactions with our guests but also maintain a private & separate area around our cabin. Likely you will see us driving by and can flag us down anytime should you need anything. Otherwise the house, yard & river access create a wonderful peaceful oasis to relax and enjoy the sights & sounds of nature. Due to the sensitive nature of the habitat & water systems, we do not allow pets or children and have a maximum of four guests on the property. Other things to note No pets please No parties
