Artvark Retreat above Ocho Rios in Jamaica

Artvark Retreat has a main building and separate cottages with 8 bedrooms. Its large open living areas, verandas and spectacular views make the Retreat an ideal place for group events such as workshops, retreats and private functions. The chef-staffed kitchen isn't available for guest cooking, but full meals can be catered and there is a kitchenette with a fridge and small appliances. Meals cost $7usd per person plus the cost of ingredients. The space Artvark Retreat is a campus-style facility and cannot be rented by the room. Some of the bedrooms are in separate cottages within the compound, but only the whole compound can be booked. The Retreat can actually sleep up to 16 people in a combination of twin and king beds so it's great for weddings, retreats, family reunions and celebrations. 12 of the twin beds can be put together to create 6 king beds, one each in 6 of the bedrooms. Guests have private use of the entire facility, including the bedroom cottages, TV room, great room/dining room, guest snack pantry/wet bar, pool, patio, pavilion, multiple verandas, grounds and gardens. Parking is available on the Retreat grounds. Artvark Retreat does not have air conditioning, but it is located on top of a hill and was built to benefit from the continual Jamaican breezes. All bedrooms have mosquito mesh on the windows. Stone, the chef on staff, provides a complimentary breakfast using locally grown fresh ingredients after every night of your stay and can cater meals and events with at least 3 days prior notice. The complimentary breakfast rotates between traditional Jamaican creole breakfast fare and American favorites based on the ingredients available in the garden and the pantry. While it is a full breakfast (not just toast and coffee and juice), it is not a restaurant menu. Because the breakfast is provided free of charge, it cannot be customized without prior notice and additional catering fees. For any meal service beyond our standard breakfast, there is a $9.00 USD per-person/per-meal charge in addition to the rental fees, and you can either provide the ingredients yourself or have our staff shop for you for a small additional charge. These meals are based on menus selected by you in communication with Chef Stone and are full-service, including set-up and clean-up. Guest access the chef's professional kitchen is not available to guests, but meal catering is available for an additional fee per person per meal. Chef Stone works directly with you to create the menus you choose. Other things to note The base rental price is $550/night for 8 guests or less. For any additional guest(s) over the first 8, there is an additional fee of $30 per night per person. This includes the complimentary breakfast after every night's stay.
