At Anchor River Cabins, we believe that a real log cabin is the only way to truly experience Alaska whilst visiting! That being said, this cabin comes fully equipped with all your home amenities including one bedroom with a queen size bed, one loft with two twin sized beds, a fully furnished kitchen and living room, and a fully equipped bathroom. Within a five minute walk to the Anchor River, and just down the road from the Anchor Point beach which seasonally hosts multitudes of bald eagles. Why Anchor Point? Anchor Point was given its namesake by Captain Cook in 1778 when the famous captain was searching for the legendary Northwest Passage. While exploring Cook inlet (his namesake) he lost one of his ships anchors too strong tidal currents thereby dubbing the area he lost it, Anchor Point. Those same infamous tides are still around today and offer much beach-combing and tide pooling opportunities along the beach. The Inlet itself offers many salt water fishing opportunities for Halibut, salmon, and rockfish. The Anchor River within walking distance of the cabins is the heartbeat of the town and offers many fishing opportunities for a variety of species. Being centrally located between Homer and Ninilchik, as well as an hour south of the world famous Kenai River, adventures are not hard to come by; and at the end of the day, you have a quiet cabin to retire to. The entire cabin will be at your disposal As owner, I work full time during and throughout the summer so interactions throughout the stay will be minimal. However, I have great co-hosts who are very quick on response time and are always willing to help. This cabin is located within a five minute walk from the Anchor River where there is always something to fish for. Just down the road is the Cook Inlet beach famous for the crowds of bald eagles it brings in throughout the spring and early summer. The beach is also home to the Anchor River Enterprises boatlaunch wherein repurposed logging skidders are used to launch charter fishing boats in and out of the ocean all day long! A truly unique way of doing things and not a bad place to pick up a charter for that dream halibut catch (I also do bookings for charters if interested). Anchor Point's North America's Most Westerly Highway Point is a destination landmark for travelers all over the globe. Moose are known to frequent through town throughout the summer so chances of seeing one around the cabins is high! Walk to the river, party store, or restaurant, beach is a longer walk or a short bike ride. - We do accept pets for an ADDITIONAL CHARGE of $25 per pet per night. Please message us with any questions. - There is a futon available for sleeping in case of an extra guest - There is a community fire-pit on site with bundles of firewood being sold for $5 at the wood shed, chairs, kindling, and an axe are all included.
