Full disclosure - hard to believe I need to put this but yes, anything you find in nature can surely be found here; so yes there are insects and wildlife of every imaginable kind. You'll experience river and marshland nature at it's best. All part of it's undeniable allure. This is no hotel setting for sure. Enjoy the amazing sunrises, sunsets, full moons, and everyday natural beauty from the screened-in porch, the dock, or by water. 4 kayaks, including a double, and a paddleboard are all available for guest use. Fish are plentiful, huge and can be caught year-round; crab, shrimp, bait, everything is right in your front "yard". Bottle-nosed dolphin can be seen strolling the waters, and boat ramps are near. The water is a mix of salt-water and fresh-water, considered brackish; thus fish and marine life of all kinds can be seen and caught. Enjoy Belhaven, Bath, and Wahington NC with all of their unique, quaint, and old-fashioned shops and restaurants. Enjoy the many shops, festivals, music, and local gatherings held year-round and for the most part free. Captain your boat or sailboat to dinner or to the intra-coastal waterway for access to anywhere by sea. Catamarans and sailboats have ideal winds year-round to sail right out to the river. Boat easily to the Pamlico and Albemarle sounds, and on to the intra-coastal waterway. Take a ride on the Bayview ferry to Aurora...or the Swan Quarter ferry to Okracoke. New Bern is close; Nag's Head is a little over 2 hours. Or park the car and don't leave.... Kitchen comes fully stocked with a propane stove with griddle, cast iron pots, microwave, air fryer/toaster, keurig coffee maker, blender, pressure cooker, crock-pot, and ice cream maker, seafood boiler.
