Close to the sandy beaches of Snettisham, Heacham and Hunstanton. With Wild Ken Hill and Sandringham Estate on the doorstep and stately homes like Holkham and Houghton a short drive away. The space The Old Washhouse is light and spacious with exposed beams throughout. The living room is the heart of the house with its’ huge inglenook fireplace with log burner, comfy sofa and dining area furnished with beautiful antiques. Double doors lead out to the courtyard garden. Where you can relax and enjoy breakfast or a glass of something in the evening to the sound of the birdsong coming from the surrounding mature trees. The newly fitted kitchen has everything you need if you chose to dine in. With walk in pantry, butlers sink, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and fridge with freezer compartment. The open plan staircase leads upstairs to the bathroom and two bedrooms. The large duel aspect main bedroom has a writing nook and king size bed, chest of draws and hanging rail. The cosy second bedroom has a queen wrought iron bed and chest of draws. You will be falling asleep in style with Morris and Co and V&A bedding and sumptuous pillows and duvets. The bathroom features a beautiful roll top double ended bath where you can relax in complete luxury. Guest access Guests have access to the whole property. Other things to note Located in a superb position the cottage is fully accessible by public transport, just 7.5 miles from King’s Lynn with a direct rail line to London King’s Cross. Once here North Norfolk’s sandy beaches at Snettisham, Heacham and Hunstanton are a few minutes’ drive away. This part of Norfolk is perfect for nature lovers with its rich tapestry of wildlife. From the wader spectaculars in nearby RSPB Snettisham to the wild ponies and beavers of Wild Ken Hill. The area is a wildlife haven all year round. It’s no wonder that the BBC filmed Springwatch here for two years. Walkers and cyclists are spoilt for choice with easy access to Sandringham’s estate with its trails and Dersingham Bog National Nature Reserve with its marshland, heathland and woodland. There is an extensive network of national walking trails, the North Norfolk Coastal Path and the Peddlars Way. There are also beautiful stately homes like Holkham and Houghton with its annual contemporary art exhibitions. There is a large well stocked Co-op, tearoom, pub and fish and chip shop within walking distance of the property and in nearby Snettisham you will find The Old Bank Restaurant, The Rose and Crown Pub and the Old Store. Visitors bringing their dogs; Norfolk is a great place to explore with your dog. With miles of beaches and stunning woodland. There are lots of dog friendly cafes and restaurants to choose from. At the cottage there is dog shampoo under the sink and a tin bath and outdoor tap if you do need to give your dog a bath. Please bring your own towels and please don’t bath them upstairs. We ask that dogs do not go in the bedrooms and are not left alone for long periods of time. There are many beautiful walks minutes from the cottage including the stunning Sandringham estate. Owners should be aware that September and the Autumn are the months where in the past cases of Canine Seasonal Illness have been seen at Sandringham. SCI is a rare illness which has dramatically declined in numbers since 2010.
