Nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains, this 2200 sq ft home is surrounded by woods on 6 acres that backs up to the national forest, with a mountain view, accommodating up to 10 guests. 4 bedrms/3 baths, each with king beds, plus 2 twin beds on lower level. Conveniently located near hiking trails, waterfalls, wineries, antique shops and only 10 minutes to adorable downtown Clayton, GA (a designated Appalachian Trail gateway town), 30 minutes to posh Highlands, NC, and 1 hr to Ski Sapphire. This new home has a modern design, with an open floor plan that seamlessly blends the living, dining and kitchen areas. Easy entry to main level with 2 steps, and 2 bedrooms and 2 baths on main level, 2 additional bedrooms and a bath on lower level. Chef's kitchen features cuisinart pots/pans, induction stovetop, airfryer, instant pot, espresso machine, coffee pot, electric kettle, microwave, toaster and outdoor charcoal grill. Outdoor space galore with multiple decks, a screened porch, and firepit. Loads of board games, puzzles, magazines and books to plan your outings or stay in and lounge around. Well equipped with kayak, paddle board, hammock, hiking poles, and lunch bags for packing a picnic for your hikes. Entire property. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Rabun County is a gem in the most northeastern corner of Georgia with 75% of the land designated public/forest/parks. (Don’t let the movie “Deliverance” that was filmed here scare you). Black Rock Mountain State Park (mountain views overlooking 3 states), Tallulah Gorge (the deepest canyon east of the Mississippi), Lake Burton or Lake Rabun are just several of the natural highlights here. Endless waterfalls, lakes, hiking trails, wineries, antique and boutique shops abound. There’s also a rich Appalachian history on display here with Foxfire, remnants of moonshiners during prohibition, ancient railroad stations that made Tallulah Gorge the south’s Niagara Falls during the 1800-1900s (until Georgia Power dammed it up to create lakes and hydroelectricity) and projects from the Tennessee Valley Authority and FDR in the many forests remain. You’ll need a car to get around, but parking is usually easy to find. No smoking on property. Bring your own charcoal for grill. No events or parties without notice and approval. We do not rent to guests 24 and younger unless an older guest is present.
