Description

If you are an artist, fisherperson, kayaker, boater or just someone who wants to chill, you will love this. It’s quirky, private, artsy and has soul to refresh yours. Our waterfront paradise sits on a point on Queens Creek with a 180-degree view of the quarter-mile-wide estuary, just upriver from the Intracoastal Waterway and 5 miles from the ocean. We’ve rehabbed a 1959 fishing cottage, 2 bed, 2 bath surrounded by glass w/ kitchen and living facing the water. The space If you’re an artist, birder, fisher person, kayaker, boater or just someone who wants to chill, you will love this. It’s quirky, private, artsy and has soul to refresh yours. We have our waterfront paradise in Swansboro available for short-term rental while we rehab a barn in the Tennessee mountains. It’s on a point in Queen’s Creek with a 180-degree view of the quarter-mile-wide estuary, three miles upriver from the Intracoastal Waterway and five miles from the ocean. This is among the best fishing spots in coastal Carolina, visited by dolphins and birds of every type. We’ve rehabbed (and aren’t quite finished )with this 1959 fishing cottage with two bedrooms, two full baths, outdoor shower, water-facing decks, fire pit, outdoor fireplace and lots of outdoor seating for watching beautiful sunrises and sunsets, birding, fishing and just breathing. The kitchen and living area are all sliding glass doors overlooking the water. A geothermal system keeps it nice and cool in summer and warm in winter. The sliding doors are screened to capture the coastal breeze. It’s on a quiet dead-end road just a mile and a half from the Swansboro Food Lion, Walmart, restaurants. Just three miles to historic downtown Swansboro and 15-20 minutes from Emerald Isle by car, depending on traffic. We have been adopted by a feral cat, Mr. Cat, who also adopted our beautiful 95-year-old neighbor, Jo, a retired English teacher whose father founded the fishing camp. Mr. Cat is truly part of the experience, as if he knows he’s to be of service. Food is supplied while love is requested. He’s happy to stay outdoors. See him in the pictures and on FB. Welcome! So happy you’re here! Guest access All except one closet. Please enjoy the musical equipment in the band room and be careful with the flora, please. Other things to note Mr. Cat! He came to us as a skittish feral cat that weaved his way into our lives along with that of our elderly neighbor. He had been shot and still has a .22 bullet in the flesh below his right shoulder. He’s only recently enjoyed coming inside the house. He roams the big open places, has made friends with Princess Possum, Mr. and Mrs. Mallard and Grumpuss the heron, who you’ll see. We have all the food provided but we ask you to care and feed him. He’s magic and healing.
