There's nothing quite like watching the sunrise over the ocean. Except perhaps, after a long day at the beach, watching the sunset over the jungle. From the rooftop terrace of House of the Lucky Dogs, you can do both, AND you can also sunbathe with privacy, & cool down in the rooftop pool. With a 4 min walk to both the beach & the town square, 3 large bedrooms - all king sized beds, & ensuite/adjacent bathrooms - a media room, sitting area, dining room, & garden, you'll know why we're Lucky! The space The property is gated and walled. Around the walls, front and back, are beautiful gardens, tended by our caretaker, and you can park your car inside the gates. As you walk in the front door you'll find an open concept room with a six seater dining room table, a large kitchen with all amenities, and a comfortable sitting room with ample seating for everyone. Towards the back of the house you will find the first of three bedrooms and, be beside it, the bathroom. The bedroom has a king bed and is adjacent to the sliding doors that lead out to the covered patio with couch seating, a smaller dining table, ping pong table and, tucked away around the corner, two bikes with baskets for your use during your stay. As you move to the second floor, you will see ahead of you our large media room which has a TV, DVDs, and ExpatTV which allows our guests to watch sports and television shows and movies from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. We also have books and a few games for your use. To your right and left on the second floor are identical master bedrooms both with king beds, en suite bathrooms and each with their own private balconies. The balconies have a lounger and seats. The third floor is the entertainment terrace which offers a small fridge, sink, ice sink, covered couch seating, loungers, hammock, and, best of all, your own plunge pool! At night there is a lively restaurant scene with live music, there are local shops, and you're just moments away from the town square, grocery store, and beach! Guest access The whole house is yours to use throughout your stay. Other things to note This is a property in the heart of a Mexican seaside town. Our neighbourhood is safe and people are friendly. We truly have the best of both worlds here: excellent restaurants, live music, and amenities that appeal to visitors, while also having the privilege of local neighbours on either side of us. This is a beautiful area that mingles visitors with locals so there will be local sounds! These sounds are not the sort that disrupt or disturb; for example, Puerto Morelos has dog owners, and those dogs do bark. We back into the jungle so you will see harmless and sweet coati families hanging out in the trees, and on top of our laundry room in the back garden where it's sunny and warm for them (no they don't approach you). We often hear a rooster in the morning (we call him Ramon). This is town life here in Mexico and we urge you to come and enjoy both the luxuries available to visitors and the regular way of life lived by our community. If sound troubles you when it's time to sleep, the AC may provide that light hum that lulls you, or we have noise machines in every room for your use. Please be aware that guests who do not have prior reviews with Airbnb may be asked to provide a refundable security deposit of $500. This deposit will be paid directly through Airbnb and will be returned within 24 hours after departure and once the property manager has visited the house. Your understanding is appreciated.
