Welcome to Casa Guadalupe, where location and culture doesn't get any better than this. Situated in the historical center of Merida and within easy walking distance to the City main square, the opera house, great restaurants, Paseo de Montejo, art galleries, great shopping and feet away from the Merida English Library. This jewel box of a home is the perfect sized retreat, with two bedrooms, two baths, office, kitchen and a family room that opens to a generous covered living-dining room area. The spacious entry foyer welcomes you with a view through the home and out onto the terrace living room, the garden and pool area. Directly off the foyer to the left is the office, with two desks and a cabinet. If you bring some work with you, use either the office or out on the terrace, with good Wi-Fi access across the property. Straight ahead of the foyer is the center hall with built-in cabinetry. On either side of the hall are the 2 bedrooms. To the right, the master suite with a king size bed, a walk-in closet and its own 3 piece bath. And to the left a guest bedroom with queen size bed with wardrobe and a safe for your personal items. Continuing through the center hall is the family room and the fully equipped chef's style Mexican kitchen (with dish-washer) that both open to the rear terrace, garden and pool area. The family room is the perfect place to curl up and watch a movie while the large kitchen provides lots of space to create gourmet meals or grab a cold one from the fridge. From the kitchen, there's also a convenient "pass-through" to the terrace for hosting fabulous outdoor dinner parties. Off of the family-TV room is the charming main 3-piece bathroom. The covered terrace at the rear of the home has a very comfortable seating area and a dining space that easily accommodates 6 to 8 people. The terrace also provides access to the laundry and storage room with a washer and dryer. And then of course, situated in the midst of the tropical garden is the pool that gets lots of sunlight. At the rear of the pool is the BBQ and an area for sun-bathing or a great spot to sit in the evening and enjoy the breeze and the view of the gorgeous mature palms flanking the pool. I receive the guests and I'm available when needed. Public transit is just outside the front door and one house down to the right. Just stick out your arm to let the driver know that you want him to stop. It will cost you 8 pesos to to take it to the end of the line about 12-15 minutes away, which is in the heart of the shopping district. And you'll find eeeeverything imaginable. It is an experience!! If you are unsure as to how to return home, just grab an Uber. They are extremely inexpensive, the drivers are always nice and very safe. If you like the ride, be generous with a 5 or 10 peso tip. Also, before you leave the house, remember to write down the address of Casa Guadalupe ,.... Calle 66, Numero 449, Centro, entre 47 y 53. (this is a note to the driver as to what street he should enter at to get onto Calle 66. And now, you're almost an old hand at this. This home has been totally renovated and most rooms still have their original pasta floors tiles along with high ceilings. Both bedrooms have air-conditioning, as does the office. Cleaning and pool services are included once every 7 days and a gardener every 15 days. Come visit the beautiful City of Merida and stay at Casa Guadalupe.
